I've been Playing Golf for: 5 Years

My current handicap index or average score is: Low-Mid 70s

My typical ball flight is: High Draw

The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: Pull Hook, Push

7 Iron

54* Sand Wedge

I finally got out to the range.  My front foot doesn't usually spin out that much, it was a little damp.  Both of these shots were high push draws.  I'm excited for any and all responses, good or bad.  Let me know what yall think!

Sorry about the quality of the video.  I was kind of in a hurry hence why it is not exactly down the line.

I have been working on shortening my back swing and swinging a little flatter.  Any suggestions to make this transition go faster and more smoothly would be appreciated. Also, please point out any flaws you may see.

I am recently having issues with inconsistent contact.   I am working on shortening my backswing but this is still a work in progress.  Could someone please help me out?

It's hard to tell from the videos. Do you pick the ball? And by that I mean, do you often strike the ball without taking a divot?

Yeah the video is from an Iphone and I don't know how to upload the slow mo video that I have.  In slow mo I noticed that I am casting the club which I think is a result of my swing backswing way too long.  When I was striking the ball well I always took a divot.  Now I am hitting the ball thin, fat and yes I am picking the ball as well.  Just super inconsistent.

First time to the range in a long time.  I haven't played a round in a bout 2 months.  It was nice just to get out there and go.  Anyways, was mostly hitting push draw/hook but I did hit a few pull draws/hooks.  Any and all advice welcome.

This angle makes it difficult to get good analysis. I would recommend getting an inexpensive tripod and keep it in your car so you can get better video angles.

FWIW, you appear to be swinging out of your shoes in these swings. One drill that I do, and video, is do three swings, one at 50%, one at 70% and the last my normal full speed. Then look at the differences. For me, my full swing looked different because I was changing my sequence. I had to work on that for a while.

Thanks for the feedback.  Yeah my camera angle sucks, a tripod is on the way.

I have always struggled with staying balanced through out my swing but these are typical swings for me.  I don't know if my lead foot is spinning out too much, if its a swaying issue or over swinging a bit.  The longer the club, the less balanced I seem to be.  Thanks for the drill I will definitely try it!

Hitting the TS2.  It's been a few years since I've been on simulator/monitor.  One big thing I noticed is my clubhead speed was down about 4 mph from 111 to 107 from a few years ago.

I'm not sure the specific reason for that but I'm down to playing about once a month vs. once to twice a week, plus I've put on some weight in the last few years lol

Anyways, I know the angle is not great, but all insight is welcome!
