Bringing Balls on a Plane?

Anyone know if I can bring golf balls on a plane traveling internationally?

I'm heading to Jamaica this weekend, to Jewel Runaway Bay resort and golf course (got a really good deal and golf is included), not bringing my clubs so I will be renting.   Being as bad as I am, I'm sure I will lose a few balls, so I figured I'd throw a few extra sleeves in my bag and take them along.

Am I being a cheapskate by wanting to bring balls with me and not buy them there?  I normally play recycled Top Flite D2s, just to let you know where my budget normally is.

Also, has anyone played there before?  Thoughts on the course?

Fortunately, they have yet to declare my golf balls, or swing, a threat to national security.  There has been some discussion about declaring the combination of the two as a possible weapon of mass destruction, however.....

HAHA that's funny, but to the OP no they will not confiscate them.  I just flew with some not that long ago.

You CANNOT take them as carry on luggage, due to a threat to other passengers, should not be an issue in checked in baggage. Happened to me travelling from bangkok to new delhi

Happened to me travelling from bangkok to new delhi

I've flown dozens of times, including internationally with golf balls in my carry on.  Heck, you can buy them inside the security zone in a lot of major U.S. airports.....

Not sure what they were thinking in Bangkok, but the OP will have no trouble whatsoever flying to and from Jamaica.

That is what I argues when i had 24 new balls in my carry on, their argument was, you could take them out and throw them at other passengers and injure them >>>> oh well... better to be safe than sorry :)

Won't be checking a bag, so I'll try to carry them on. Good thing they're cheap so I won't have an issue tossing them if I do get any grief at the airport. Also if it makes any difference I'm flying through JFK and Miami.

I guess it's physically impossible to throw PCs and other hard items on-board an airplane.

While it may be completely fine to carry them and not be on the prohibited items list, its completely subjective. If a TSA agent feels like it shouldnt fly then it wont. If i were you i'd kindly find a TSA agent and run it by them before trying to get through the line.

It's not subjective at all. www.tsa.gov Print out the prohibited list and take it with you. If they give you trouble ask to talk to a supervisor. Don't talk to a smurf, tell them you want to talk to the person that comes to work in a suit, not a costume.

      Day 35 (6 Jan 26) - Got opportunity to play today, opted to mix it up - pulled Driver, 3w and 4h, keeping 7w, 5-Pw, 50 and 55 wedges and putter.  Played a set of tees up as well - goal: focus on the irons, especially the scoring clubs.  Had one of the sessions in a while (3 over 39 front, 6 over 42 back (a couple late round poor shot choices)).  Had a blast working a 10 club setup…

      Hi all. I have sought permission from admin to post this here. First, here's a quick link to my products on TST, which a few of the mods have been road-testing...  Most of you would be aware of the import tariffs imposed on importers to the US circa September last year. Prior to their introduction, I was selling a decent number each week into the 'States. Since the tariffs came in - which added ~AU$60 to the total cost of getting them over there - sales have dropped to virtually nil. I think fear of the tariffs is the biggest part rather than the actual cost increase, despite me declaring everywhere on my site that we pay the tariffs and have successfully got every order into the US without any problems since. What is still unknown to most US consumers is that these tariffs will DOUBLE in February as Australia Post will no longer be allowed to offer "private" rates, they all change to "commercial". I do indeed think that this will make the products uncompetitive to ship there. So what's the backstory?  I'm a small Aussie business, not some corporate juggernaut. I invented these products - not a reseller for someone else. The import tariffs double in February, so add another ~15% to the total cost. If you want StanceMate alone I can do a super deal on a run-out model PREVIEW HERE (note you cannot purchase this yet. I think the shipped price will be about AU$110 inc Shipping (tariffs included). If you want to reduce the cost of the whole Stryper Plus Bundle I can swap the runout StanceMate to reduce the overall price by AU$60. These work EXACTLY as the newer version, just not as premium quality in the way the finish is achievbed in production) IMPORTANT: All import tariffs are PRE-PAID at my end, and clears customs no problem. I've sent a half dozen since October with every one delivered. NB: I'm not here to get into the politics of the decisions on tariffs, so let's not go down that road. It is what it is! So StanceMate to your door in US - tariffs prepaid - about US$70 Bundle to your door in US - tariffs prepaid - US$240 Bundle (with version 1 StanceMate) to your door in US - tariffs prepaid - US$200 Cheers Corbs
