Coming from the lightning thread, I thought about weather. As golfers, I would think most of us are regular weather checkers, at least more so than the average person. I use Wunderground and NOAA, I just don't like the ads that come with the more popular services. I find that weather.com is usually on the pessimistic side in terms of rain and temp. What have you observed?

I prefer Wunderground for their predictions and radar. However, when it comes to being notified of severe weather I have iNWS alerts from NOAA. They're similar to the NWS alerts you can get on your phone but have more options available to emergency responders. Unfortunately if you aren't an emergency responder, emergency manager, or meteorologist you can't get the iNWS alerts, but NWS ones are good enough for any golfer. I'd highly recommend them to anyone that carries there phone on them during a round of golf.

I use Wunderground.com. I can take or leave the forecasts, but the WunderMap is, errrrr, wunderful, plus they have the animated radar. I also like the satellite version of the WunderMap, which shows cloud cover instead of just rain cells. That way you can plan for when it's going to rain and when it's going to be sunny. On my iPhone I use the Wunderground app as well, through for something quick I'll take a peak at the Apple Weather app. The new Yahoo! Weather is a decent app too.

NECN in New England is the most accurate.  Matt Noyes gets a woody whenever bad weather happens.

I use Intellicast for the radar.  Weather.com is pretty good but alway is optimistic.  NOAA is always pessimistic.

The Weather Channel is good too.  Except if Jim Cantore is in your neighborhood, find shelter immediately.

Accuweather (they seem to be by far the best for us out here in the tropical hinterlands) for day to day, and NOAA for up to date tropical storm and hurricane tracking.
