I am going to finally start keeping track of my statistics as well (aside from score) so that I can try and figure out where I need to improve.

The only stat I'm not going to do is FIR because i'm just can't force my self to jot it down yet.. everything else is an easy calculation.

Just the last 2 rounds below, and I'll just update here every 10 rounds to see where I'm going..

# of Rounds   -   2 # GIR # ATT %
PAR 3 4 6 67%
PAR 4 4 10 40%
PAR 5 1 2 50%
Total 9 18 50%
# of Rounds   -   2 Scrambled # ATT %
PAR 3 1 2 50%
PAR 4 3 6 50%
PAR 5 0 1 0%
Total 4 9 44%
# of Rounds   -   2 # Putts # ATT %
PAR 3 9 6 1.50
PAR 4 11 10 1.10
PAR 5 4 2 2.00

Double header today.. +5 this time very sad 1 birdie 3 pars 4 bogies 1 double I'm just hurting my self with these doubles! I hit some of the best iron shots in a while though! I haven't had a chance to go to the range either.: something has changed though and I just know it.. I can't wait to video and compare to the last recorded swing!

I went to the range today instead of playing, and I was able to take some videos to find out if what I have been feeling (i.e.  that I am getting better) is actually true or not.

I am working on looser arms and hands, and to make sure that I don't go after the ball as if it was a regular swing.  I think my pitching has improved from the first video that I posted.

Also, another reason for my improved ball striking has been my practicing of a better shoulder turn and not having my shoulder turn flat after I get to A3 (Full Swings)

If there has been an improvement with my Key#1 I am thinking I will need to start working on my path, as it seems since this change has happened I am not swinging out enough.. However, my ball flight right now is playable, and I can only hope that things get better from here!!

Swing is looking great, Eyad! Glad to see you have that overswing under control. Stance is still a touch on the wide side, IMO. For an iron I think you should be more inline with the shoulders as opposed to slightly outside them.

Stance very wide for pitches. Feet almost touching please. Weight favoring front foot slightly throughout.

Will do.. Thanks!  I'm just happy that my head isn't dipping badly going into the downswing.

Thanks Bill!  I probably need some sort of mechanism to control my stand width for all my different shots..

If you were to guess what would be my next priority piece what would you say?

Thanks Bill!  I probably need some sort of mechanism to control my stand width for all my different shots..

Use a full length mirror.

You can also stand in your regular address position and mark on the floor where the outsides of your feet are, and bring them in slightly. Mark the new position and practice that untik its normal.

Honestly it might be easier just knowing you stand slightly wide, so narrowing your stance can be part of your preshot routine. Like do your normal routine, then bring the back foot closer to the front or something to that effect. The trick is remembering to make the adjustment.

If you were to guess what would be my next priority piece what would you say?

What you get on Evolvr.

You're an Evolvr guy, so yea, I wasn't going to touch that with a ten foot pole lol

I will try that on the range and at home when I'm just practicing taking my address position.. Thanks!

Of course we can. But it's more fun to get better, and not so fun to be lead down a goofy path.

Not so much about assimilation, but simply a question of judgment. It would be presumptuous of me to offer that kind of advice when you are already receiving it from the experts.

+1

I've wasted enormous amounts of time on goofy paths. @Abu3baid , DON'T DO IT! Focus on your Evolvr piece and ONLY your Evolvr piece. Don't look any further than that piece or your retarding your potential progress.

Trust me, they know what they are doing when they give you something specific to work on and even if you see other things that need work, it's HIGHLY likely that those other things will improve all by themselves if you keep working on your piece.

I used to stand up at impact and the piece they gave me ignored that fault completely. I went off on my own tangent to fix the standing up and made my path far worse. Once I buckled down and just worked on the piece they gave me and stopped worrying about standing up it fixed itself! Trust your instructor, he knows the fastest, most efficient way to fix everything but you gotta trust him.

Yours in earnest, Jason.

Got my analysis back and can anyone guess what my next priority piece is? - -- --- ---- Yup, you guessed it... Steady Head  Shouldn't be much of surprise really, but at least I am getting better.. What I think is really great about these guys is that they have been patient with me and have been able to keep me on the path to improvement for so long.. I mean, I knew it was going to be a long commitment, but I didn't expect to be working on the same piece for so long.. Then again, I guess there is a reason why it is priority# 1.. Basically right now since I have finally taken a hurdle from where I was, I am going to be working on fine tuning my steady head so that it is not coming up at all on the backswing.. It's like right after 3.7 that it just barely comes up so I need to slowly get my body used to getting to A4 without having the need to feel like I am reaching back for more.. The next part is my slight sway to the right, i.e. making sure that I create space between the invisible line of my right hip at A4 compared with A1, not much, but it will be more like me feeling that I am putting the pressure on the instep of my foot instead of the outside of my right foot.. + a narrower stance with my irons.. "Nice Job on that Bill, you said it first" Overall like I mentioned before my contact has been so much better since I have taken that hurdle, and I am also happy that I have been going slow with my lessons because this way once it has been done correctly I am hoping that there will never be regression going forward, but rather fine tuning until I have the golf game I am looking for!

Day 1 of family being away in Muscat, Oman.

Went to the range and hit a bucket.. didn't really work on anything though because I just wanted to see  what is really going on with my swing (i.e. forgot Camera at home)

Ball flight is still not as consistent as it should be right now... It is much better than it used to be, but my miss is a push right now, so I'm sure once I have the steady head down I will be working on making sure that my path is predictably in-out.

I then went out to the course to work mostly on my short game, there was a very slow couple in front of me, so I actually played 3 balls because there was no one behind me, and I would get to the green and just practice chipping/pitching and putting.  I purchased a used 64* wedge while I was in Muscat and I like it so far.. It really isn't the same as opening up my 60*.. The shots that I usually take with my 60 and land near the hole and then role away, with the 64* they were landing close to the hole and pretty much sticking.  I can't wait to use it again.

I will try and work out some of the kinks tonight and see what I can do tomorrow morning again.. hopefully I can tape tomorrow on the range and see an improvement so that I can submit my last video of the month!

Day 2

Hit the range again today, worked in some slow reps working on 2 things, making sure my head doesn't move from A3.5 to A4 in DTL view and trying to get my right hip go toward the target a little more on the back swing so that I have about an inch between the line on my right hip from A1 to A4.

I failed on both accounts when I taped my full swing as you can see...  I'm almost getting to the point of frustration.. However, I'm going to give it to the end of the week at least and see if I can put more mirror work in.

Eyad, looks like you simply need to exaggerate more.  For instance, when working on the shoulder tilt, instead of trying to achieve the proper tilt to prevent the head from moving up try and have too much tilt that would actually cause your head to move DOWN.  Try to OVERDO the changes.  If you can overdo the changes it will be easy for you to dial it back within the proper amount.  If you can't make the changes at the speed you are practicing at then you need to slow down until you can.  Shorten the swing, narrow your stance, over exaggerate.

QFT.

You can't fix your swing on the golf course or at full speed.

    • Kind of reminds me of my first driver - a TM R580 at a whopping 400cc.  Still have one in the stable - and like to hit it on occasion.  Makes me wonder if the Mini-drivers of today are a testing ground to drivers of tomorrow of the powers that be opt to roll back driver head size in conjunction to the ball roll back to limit the overall distance.  I’ve not done a lot of research on shot distances between the mini and regular drivers, but figured there is some.  Will be something to follow as the mini-driver unfolds.
    • Day 167: did a decent amount of slow rehearsal swings, working on cleaning up some backswing stuff.
    • I agree with you, at least in regards to myself and playing. I can't really speak much for others. I assume that some people who are playing golf very often can notice more drastic differences. That being said, I do notice some differences here and there and sound and feel definitely have some say in which ball I end up liking. But that seems more psychological than physical. I've only been playing golf regularly for a year now and I'll play almost any ball since I often lose balls. However, since I've been able to get out once a week for a while now, I am down to losing only about 2-3 balls from losing 10-14 per round. Which feels huge for me and so I've begun to narrow down the balls I choose to play with. I've gone through a box of Vice Pro Plus, Vice Pro, Sugar, Titleist DT Trufeel and Kirklands. Bought a bucket of 350 used balls which had a majority of Srixon Soft Feels in there. I decided to give the Soft Feels a try and have really been enjoying them quite a bit. Only yesterday did I hit a Pro V1 for the first time and it felt quite nice. However, that all being said, I have to admit, I've played my best overall with Vice Pro Plus balls. I get the most distance from these balls and am able to hit them quite well. I am not sure on green side spin/grip, I think I'd prefer them to check up a bit more. But I believe one really big factor for me with these balls is that I usually club down when hitting them because I gain so much distance off of them and I also tend to bring my swing speed down which causes me to have a more accurate swing and ball strike. As opposed to trying to whack the snot out of the ball each time, which ends up in a slice 75% of the time. I do love testing out new balls though, sound and feel is always fun to experience.
    • I am in the same boat, I'd love to test a LAB OZ but nobody here has them either and I've never seen one played on any courses I've been on. Nor can I afford/commit to blindly buy something at this price and not know how it works for me. I've been playing a cheapy $60 Wilson Harmonized M1 for a long time and was looking at new putters but the price of a new putter is really off-putting. Thankfully I played in a tournament in November and ended up winning a brand new Taylormade TR B31. Will probably be playing this for a few years until I get to try something like the LAB OZ and once it's been discounted if I like it.
