Better than having to make up strokes from the first three holes.

If you walk up to your ball and think "That's a perfect lie." - Duff it.

If you walk up to your ball and think "That's a terrible lie." - Still duff it.

More likely......If you walk up to your ball and it's a perfect lie, it'll turn out NOT to be your ball. :-D

This was going to be in my part II series.   Happened to me yesterday.   Worse yet, you find out it's not your ball after you hit and put it on green.

Been there, done that. "Annoyed" my son in the process.

If you try to manage the course, the course will swallow you in.

The harder you try to get out of playing bogey golf, the longer you will stay as one.

For every fellow bogey golfer you met, you "hear" about 10 others who went from being a beginner to single handicap golfer in 18 months.

Probably the worst for me is missing greens in regulation all day but 2 putting everything anyway.  Then hitting a green in regulation and having a freak 3 putt.  That is annoying as hell.

To the OP:  Loved your post, man.  No truer words spoken!

"How do I make bogey?  Let me count the ways."

Last night I drove the ball great.  Hit 6 of 7 fairways with the driver and hit both par-3 greens.  Somehow I was able to parlay those beautiful drives into a triple on a par 5 and a double par EIGHT to finish up the round.  It was the mid-range game that completely failed me last night.  That and two bladed sand shots that went 20-30 yards over two greens.

I suck.
