Awesome!! That is a huge bunker shot.  I'd be happy to get out of it and just be on the green.

Sounds fun...good luck to both sides if there is a rematch.

It was a real fun experience. Very nice guys and a nice course as well. The pins were indeed mean! It also didn't help that I left my putting stroke at home. 3 jacked at least 4 times. Despite our loss we really had a blast! We'd be happy to play with you again later this week.

We had tons of fun. Afterwords we went to golfsmith for the second time in two days. :-) Thanks David! But also almost no time to spend on the internet. We played El Campeon on monday. What a course. The signature hole par5 (hole 17)was funny. I tried a fade from the tee and sliced it to the right in the trees. Was so fed up with hitting trees, I tried to keep my 2nd shot low with the driver and putted it 135y. Next shot hit a tree in the middle of the fairway. Stillm120y to go. Approach over water and a steep downhiller from 9 feet left. Holed it for a par. Easy  This hole is called devils delight. Will post some pics when back home.

Yesterday we played Bella Colina on invitation by a friend of David-inFL. WOW! What a course, what a clubhouse. Never seen something like that before. Thanks David for the invitation. This was my best ever golf experience so far. David is a fun guy to play a round with, he only got fed up with my seven wood :-P

We had a great time again too.  Made the 3d time that we played with Frank and his guys.  We all have a good mix of players and were able to work out some great pairings.  Most are leaving early this week, but we're hoping to play one more match with Cornelis and Piet on Friday as they're staying another week.

Sunday we played a stableford match with 3 3-somes, each with two Euros and one American.  It ended with 2 teams tying and one just a few points back.   That damn 7-wood didn't bother me so much Sunday because Frank was on my team, but if we ever play against each other again, that thing is gonna come to an ugly end somehow.......he's WAAAY too good with it!

Very nice course, I felt like a Japenese tourist, making photo's of the changing rooms and the clubhouse :)

The Americans were great fun to be around (as usual)

Two of us just left today after playing a round Orange County National - Panther Creek. There's a nice story to tell about our experience at Bella Collina.. One of the Dutch guys happened to run into a nice guy at Bella Collina, and after a short conversation our Dutch guy asks if this is his homecourse. The guy responds 'no, I'm a member at Bay Hill'. The Dutchy responds with: 'oh, is that a nice course?' and was invited subsequently. Would be nice to play there  .

After what he did to us in the Ryder Cup, he'll be damn lucky if I ever invite him to play again!

That gives us two "Trappers" on the home team this year.

Frank ( @MacDutch ) and a few of his guys got in last night with the rest coming in today/tomorrow.  We're having our match on Sunday, followed by some socializing at a local sports bar.  Losers buy, and Frank has brought a strong team this year, so I'd better hit an ATM on the way to the course!

    • I have an update… I don't have much of a response, because the fact that they would ADD the numbers for the lead and trail shoulder together… I mean, wow. I was giving them too much credit. Nobody would think to assume they were doing THAT. That's beyond comical. One of the biomechanists I talked to put it this way: "So if I squatted down and went from 180 to 90 deg knee angle, then I would say 180 deg range of motion because I have two knees?" I'd type more (maybe), but honestly, I'm laughing a bit too hard. 🤣 Update: Mini Manavian blocked me on Instagram, so I cannot see his post showing Bryson with about 50° of range of motion (with a driver) from P4 to P7, and 75° only if you go out to the mid-follow-through. What a terrible loss for me. 😉
    • Thanks, interesting to read. The swing is definitely very timing dependent. I hit it consistently I guess but consistently bad.
    • I've shot 91-74 on the same day before. Couple of years ago played a two round tournament on Bethpage Black. I shot 72 in the first round and 90 in the second. First round I played very well. Second round I played okay, but had about 5 shots that hit the lips of bunkers and bounced down into them. A couple of those wound up in footprints - I was unamused - and I failed to get them out. Anyway - lots of bunkers and my bunker play isn't great and then add a couple of footprints and me getting pretty tired and it added up to a lot.  Only you can really tell though what's causing the variance. It might be that your swing is very timing dependent and when it's timed well you play well and when it's not then it goes all over the place. In that case, some lessons and working on your swing could be the key. If it's more that you tend to feel like you hit it fairly consistently, but you have days where the shots come off and days where they don't, then that's more likely a course management issue. If that's what you need to work on, then you could read Lowest Score Wins and build a plan of attack based on that.  Rest assured though that a pretty big range from high to low is fairly common. Even PGA Tour players often have 18-20 shot spreads from best to worst rounds in a season. It's a common affliction among golfers.
