Played the back nine soaking wet, rain gloves that were soaked, wind howling, and somehow managed a 42. Out with a 43 for an 85 total from 6600 or so. Not too bad.

Brutal course on a tough day. That's a lot better than "not too bad"!

Thanks. We got a very good caddy as well so that helped a ton. I did not hit many fairways but drove the ball well actually, except for one hole. Pretty much topped my drive. Hacked it out of the thick stuff. Had about 115-120 left into the wind with a blind approach. Caddy says hit it with the140 club. Hit it to 3' for a par. :D. His reads were pretty spot on for the greens as well. I was talking to him about some of the things from LSW, and being a guy that looks at various golfers every day, he pretty much agreed with everything which was pretty cool.

Started with a birdie?  You had to be pumped!  I won't ask about the 3-jack double on 18 though.  What's the CR and slope from those tees?

Great pics.  Even though I'm originally from that neck of the woods, Kohler is still a bucket list destination for me.

I would like to make it there someday myself.

The slope/rating from the green tees at 6663 is 141/71.9.  It seems a bit light to me...?  Not sure.  I am no expert on that stuff.

On 18 they had the green tees back a box I believe.  I hit a nice drive played it out to the right rough to stay away from the abyss down to the left.  I did not want to be there.  I had pretty much no shot at the pin at about 225 to the back left position.  I played a 7W into a decent wind out to the right and just hoped to pitch and putt for par/bogey. I hit that shot fine.  Kind of rushed my 40 yard or so pitch which I tried to hit low to the middle of the green.  I had a semi-flub and only made it to the front of the green.  Had about 50 feet left, and I miss, I miss, I make.  I also left two putts under 8 feet and one putt under 5 out there as well.  One was another birdie putt on 2 that was only about 7' that I missed.   After the birdie on one I turned to the caddy and said "Don't get it in your head that it is going to be this easy all day." ;-)

You should, it is the most amazing golf course I have ever played.  So much fun.  I really enjoyed playing with a caddy as well.  It allows you to be a really stupid monkey.  He tells you what yardage to hit and where to aim it and you just say, okay and then do it.  There is mot much thinking involved. :-D

That would really have been great if you had converted the birdie on 2...

Yes I am going to play it.  Start saving $15 a pay check and come join me! :-D

Yeah I hit my line on the second but just hit it way too hard.  That was the theme of the day, I had troubles with hitting the ball 3-5 feet past the hole a lot.

I got a bit lucky with the birdie putt on the first.  I probably hit it 4-5 feet past the hole but just kind of banged it in on the 20 footer.  The pin was tucked in the front left and front left of the green is all kinds of trouble.  I hit a nice drive and only had 85 yards left.  I played it pin high about 20 feet out to the right to account for any slight pull.  It worked out nicely.  It sure would have been cool to start out birdie, birdie though.  The 7' putt on number two was pretty easy.

I honestly am going to try to save for it. Id love to play Erin. I think I'd rather play the straits but Erin is a bucket list course of mine.

That a guy, we can plan it later in the year, but we should start saving up.  I'll try and save a little extra for some help if needed.

I would love to play that course! It's on my list as well but not near good enough in my opinion. I shoot 95-105 on "decent" course, Geneva National, Hawks View, for example. I would be looking at 120 and probably 12-15 lost balls! lol.
