i think andres romero should've made the international team

XTD Pro - 9.5* - GD YSQ
GS Tour - 15* -GD Red Ice
Rescue TP - 17* - Fujikura TP
Idea Pro Gold - 20* - Mitsubishi JavlnFX
MP-30, 4-PW - Standard Lofts / 2* flat - TT DG RAC Z TP (54*/10*) X-Forged (60*/10*)Scotty Cameron TeI3 - 35"

Thanks for the info, that international squad looks to be pretty solid. At least on paper they appear to be superior in my opinion. I'm glad Weir made the team, they had to have a Canadian on board right!?

I for one will be tuned in from start to finish, I think Nicklaus had a tough call to make regarding his captain picks, Mahan is a great selection!

The US team looks pretty weak this year, will be interesting to see how it turns out.

Tiger's record in these type of tournaments is very poor - not to say he doesnt try but I think people just really want to beat him since they can't do it in normal tournaments its probably easier to beat him here.

Jim Furyk didnt do so well in the PGA but hes usually pretty solid, Phil has been horrible since his wrist injury - he shouldnt even play. Zach Johnson has been playing great this year he should do fine, David Toms is a good player but his record in these things is terrible. I like Scott Verplank and Cink they are pretty solid.

As for Austin/Glove/Mahan they have never played in these things so we will see how they do.

I've missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.

How much do you want to bet we get to see Tiger vs. Rory in some capacity? I hope it is in singles, but one way or another we'll see them square off.

Haha Tiger will trounce Rory just like he did to him last week, just like he did to Ames beating him 9&8 at the match play tournament.

Imo tour players should keep quite about Tiger's "beatableness" untill they actually beat him, then they can talk all they want.

Sure the media wants someone to challenege Tiger, but that person needs to do it on the course not in the press room running his mouth.

That international team on paper just looks wicked. Id be scared.

Hard to argue with any of the captains picks. I would have liked to see Jerry Kelly on the US team. He's played well this year and I think he's got the game and competitive attitude to do very well in this type of format. I don't think Mike Weir has done much to warrant the pick but obviously we know why he was picked.

The International team always looks great on paper, that's no different this year, yet the US has had more success in President Cups than in the Ryder Cup in recent years. Past International teams haven't really had that team chemistry the Euro's have had. I like the US team. I actually think on paper it looks far better than last years Ryder Cup team.

I think the Weir pick is a joke-should be about fielding the most competative team not pandering to the home country-internationals do look scary on paper so this should be a good one.

I bet you see O'Hern and Tiger as well...he's the only one that's beat Tiger head to head twice, both in match play.

Three of the 12 on the US team are Oklahoma State guys, so I'm happy.

On paper, the International squad looks very strong, but they did in 2005 as well. You never know until these things get started.

    • Going to a Friendsgiving tomorrow and I am bringing a no-bake cheesecake. I make the crust too big, but I think it turned out good. The filling is really good.
    • Sure, but how was your alignment? 🙂 Day 53 - 2024-11-22 Mirror work after getting back home. Wife is a superstar for her career/job/whatever.
    • I would say your back nine is the second nine you play that day. It's part of what makes getting some of those holes tougher. Or, if 18 holes are played pretty often, out of A, B, and C, and you often play A and C, A is the front and C is the back, regardless of the order you play them in. That way not birdieing C #7 isn't overcome by birdieing the easier A #7 on a day you played it C-A instead of A-C. But, at the end of the day, nobody really cares except yourself.
    • Day 128: played 9. Nice little even 9, with 2 birdies and 2 bogeys.
    • @DeadMan, I think your approach makes sense. As @dennyjones said, consistency is the key.
