Contact good, having trouble with AIM ... missing left or right consistently

With regard to approach shots with irons & wedges - I'm making pretty good contact now for the most part, but often miss greens left or right.     My biggest problem is poor AIM .    I have a fairly consistent set up ... it's not a consistent pull or push & not a hook or slice - hit it pretty straight ... just never quite know which side it'll miss on.

I know it's tough to say without seeing my swing, but I'm curious if anyone has had an "ah - ha" moment & discovered something that really helped them with aiming their approach shots.     I'm hoping it'll just come with practice and time, but would like to be more proactive and figure it out ... thx !

Do you spot aim?  Meaning do you pick a spot a few feet in front of your ball and align the clubface to that?  Good drill for you

I look for a stick, divot anything that a foot or two way from my ball that is in line with the flag. Set up my club face to this spot, now I have point to focus on and can trust my swing.

I even use as part of my set up on par 3’s this has works well for me.

Might be swing path. When I hit left it is because my club head comes out a little before hitting the ball. Right of target is when I come too inside or under the proper swing plane. A push or pull has no curve because your club face is square to where the ball is heading. A push or pull is terrible and has no use. Can't even get around a tree with a push or pull swing. Might be alignment .

Is it that the club face becomes misaligned during the downswing? In other words, your setup is perfect with the club face pointing correctly, but as you come through you either fail to get back to or go beyond the correct angle?

If that's the case, I have a similar issue and would like to know if any of these suggestions also help bring the club face back or if that's more of a swing fault that must be corrected.

The whole swing is what makes the ball go straight so you really have to be doing everything right. Everyone uses a different swing style so hard to give valuable advice.

If the club face is not squaring up it usually is the right shoulder getting lazy at contact or centrifugal force throwing your hands out at contact. The left hand has to go left at contact

(Getting out of the way) so the right hand can get around to square the club. The right hand is what you use from contact to finish.
