Just read one on ESPN. "30 cows in a pen, 28 chickens. How many didn't?"

Doesn't really work in written form…

But 10.

I have a glass (simple glass, perfect right cylinder).

I 'looks' half full.

How can I confirm it really is half full?   (I have nothing other than the glass, the water in it, and me.)

I know this is old but I do not usually read this thread and came across it.  Did anyone ever answer this one?  Because I do not see it.

If I can also use a piece of cardboard and a felt tipped marker I can do it, since it is a perfect right cylinder, but I cannot figure out how to do it with just the glass, the water, and me,

But then again, what the hell do I know?

you know what?  I forgot the answer.....

I see what you are doing with the marker and card though - that would work

Couldn't you tip the thing at an angle to where the water just reached the edge, and if it basically went "corner to corner" it would be "half full"?

I like these riddles almost as much for the unconventional answers as for the expected ones.

In this case, I was thinking more along the lines of putting one hand on top of the glass to seal it, mark the water level with the thumb of your other hand, then turn the glass and your hand upside down. If the water level goes to your thumb again, it is truly half full.

Well I gave it awhile, and know the answer. It starts with a "u" and makes use of the fact that she alone contains two.

    • I don’t know why my swing got so vertical there. That wasn’t normal.    What did you mean by point 3? I get the hip turn portion.
    • It is. So, just 2 and 3 above now. 😄
    • Hopefully this one is better
    • Patrick Cantlay's strokes gained from 2024: I wonder if he takes more time on approach shots given that was the worst part of his game last season. And then here are his 2023 stats: Much better ball striking season. I wonder if there are any differences in his times between these two seasons. I tend to think he's just slow in general, but it'd be interesting to see his time differences.
    • Not sure, I think players have their own pace. Speith was always slow, regardless if he was in contention or not. Well, more so when he was in contention. It might be a push there on that question.
