I've Spent More Trying to Find the Right Wedge ... but not on one Wedge.

Value ...

It's different for everyone.

The unobtainable "must have" made from the "Hands of God."

How much would you pay?

Would you laugh ... and say "I can't believe that."

Happens all the time when it comes to golf equipment.

The $600 custom shaft embossed with your name ... the $350 Oban, Matrix, or Fujikura Shaft.

The $950 TM R1 Driver with Oban Shaft.

Now....

For your consideration, I offer the Miura, personal hand ground by Miura-san, K Grind 64 degree Wedge.

Only 6 left (at last count), out of 12, in the world, and only available at www.aceofclubstp.com

Yes, more $$$ than a 3 set of cast, personally fit Edel Wedges.

Miura 64 K ... for those crowned, undulating or huge greens when the ball must hit and stop.

A "must have" for a few Miura loyalists who want the unobtainium almost-unobtainable, ultimate greenside  weapon (if they practice a lot ... (okay, remember most of this is tongue in cheek) Going, going ....

Having owned a 56 K Grind, the K Grind reduces drag and is stunning out of the sand, yet an all around wedge.

And here she is,the Miura 64 K grind, medium width sole, 6 degrees of bounce, soft leading edge, any shaft, any grip, superior build to your specs:

Ping G400 Max 9/TPT Shaft, TEE EX10 Beta 4, 5 wd, PXG 22 HY, Mizuno JPX919F 5-GW, TItleist SM7 Raw 55-09, 59-11, Bettinardi BB39

That is a beauty!!! but the golfer still has to put a good swing on the club to get it to work right, just like my MD 58*-14C .

Pretty wedge!  I'd like more bounce though.

I'm not real price sensitive when it comes to my equipment, but I have to admit, paying that much money for a single wedge would give me pause.

I'd have to carry a junker for all the shots coming out of bunkers with pebbles and bare dirt. Imagine the day you put a big ding on that wedge. My wedges look they have been dragged behind a truck.

That's what I offered him as advice. But he'd already designed it before he talked with me ... the nerve.

I would have suggested more bounce and killed leading edge that was low to the ground where the bounce design came in later after contact - that way you can have higher bounce and  a ground-hugging leading edge.

With this wedge, I'd be forced to come in shallow, which is not my typical swing, but doable. Depends on the leading edge and how close it is to the ground.

    • My flop shots are 6-7° down (AoA). Does that answer it? 😄  The longer answer is… You have to be able to do both shots.
    • I hope you don't mind me raising this one from the dead. I got shortgamechef's video access thing for a few months in 2024. I watched his yip fix videos (the general gist is similar to the first video above, but with a lot more detail) and it made a lot of sense. I was working on it in my backyard off a mat for a while and my yippy thing was mostly gone. Aside from anything else, the flop shot using that technique is so easy and controllable. But I got onto a golf course for the first time of the year and found myself by the green on a downslope with the ball sitting down a little in the rough and I was, not to put too fine a point on it, f***ed. Shallow is all well and good from a good flat lie and I understand it, but you can't make that your be all and end all. I still don't know if it's a good idea to use steep all the time or just when you need to. I have a hard enough time with one technique, let alone too.  Just got a pitching skillest lesson with Erik and unless I misunderstood things some, he wants me a bit steeper. @iacas - where do you fall on the steep vs shallow argument and how do you vary it according to need?
