I think there's more to the story than meets the eye, dev pulling app. We'll see. Just because it's pulled doesn't mean you can't play it. I think he still makes money from ads after it's pulled.

I think I am officially in full golf withdraw... Flappy Bird got a little boring to me just trying to beat my high score, so I am going to set a "Flappy Handicap". I figure I'll average the best 10 of my last 20 rounds, divide that number by 10, and I'll have my handicap. I've played 10 games so far today. Using my best five scores of these ten, my handicap is 7.4 (of the 10 games, my high was 108 and my low was 10).

Does not compute. Your average can't be lower than your lowest score. :-)

Hahaha. I have WAY too much time on my hands. I'm averaging the scores that count and then dividing by 10. So the average of my 5 best in my computations so far is 74 (7.4 X 10). I figure a 7.4 handicap sounds much more golf-like than a 74 handicap. Boy, I need warm weather so I can get out of this house :)

The physics of Flappy Bird. More than you ever wanted to know about Flappy Bird.

TL;DR: Is the physics in Flappy Bird realistic? Yes AND no.

YES: The gravitational pull is constant, producing a constant downward acceleration of 9.8 m/s/s (if we scale the bird to the size of a robin).

NO: The impulse provided by each tap is variable in order to produce the same post-tap velocity. In real life, the impulse from each tap would be constant and produce the same change in velocity.

I'd be surprised if there wasn't a seize and desist order.  You don't turn down $18 million / yr in advertising because of you want a private life.    The game is too much like Nintendo.

He was making $50,000 a day off the advertising.  Not a bad ROI on the couple of days he said it took him to write the app!

BTW......I'm up to 83 on the iPad and 61 on the phone. :-D

Ice in my veins today. Previous best was 62 (for about a week). Placed today and got an 82 right off the bat. Steadily increased it. I think the trick for me is no distractions.

      It’s possible the graphite shaft has a small internal crack or a delamination. Tapping it and hearing a vibrating sound is usually a sign the shaft isn’t behaving as it should. Since the store wasn’t helpful, consider taking it to a club fitter or a pro shop that can check the shaft flex and integrity. If it’s defective, you might be able to get a replacement from the manufacturer.

      It’s interesting how much a 3D system changes your understanding. Observing top players in full detail and realizing the trail knee shouldn’t fully extend is a great example of why being open to new info is so important. I like your approach: not trying to be “right,” but trying to teach correctly based on actual evidence. Makes sense why golfers would benefit from this perspective.

      I would say both are equally not the best for golf. Is it better than nothing, sure.  Golf is an athletic motion. Professional golfers are doing a comprehensive workout routine focusing on strength, power, flexibility, stability. They might include some yoga into the routine. I would put both of them in the recovery bin, not golf enhancement bin.  If you want to increase swing speed, core strength, longevity in golf and life, then lift heavy weights.
