I can't stand to practice... I know that's bad and I won't get better on most parts of the game but I would rather play 72 holes on a weekend than spend 1 hour practicing.

How often do you all practice? Sorry if this is a repeat thread.

Personally, I'd have to say not often enough nor long enough. Less succinctly, I normally hit the range a few times early in the year and then my practice time is limited to the time before a round. I usually can hit balls for 15 minutes or so and then hit putts for 5 or 10 minutes before teeing off.

I practice 5-10 hours a day, every day of the week.. and I only play when I'm playing a tournament or playing 9 holes with some friends every now and then.

I'd rather kill myself than practice 5-10 hours a day. Do you mean you roam the course playing three balls but not keeping score? I could do that. But I'm way to lazy to practice like that 'yo. I'll just take my strokes and beat you when you're tired and sleepy from all that practice 'yo.

I think it's way more fun to practice than playing bad golf out there on the course 'yo. If I'm gonna be honest with you, the only things about golf that I don't like-happen out on the course.

1. I hate losing balls by making terrible shots into water hazards or out in the woods. 2. I hate waiting on tee for some slow guys on the fairway. 3. I hate writing scorecards. That's it. I love everything else. I love just striking a ball and feel it in my hands. That's why I can stand on the range hitting balls until I'm exhausted. I also love standing on the putting green and hear the sound of the ball dropping into the cup. It's music to my ears.

I try and practice about twice a week since there's a range near my work which I go during lunch time and hit a small bucket. I'm able to practice on about 3 clubs during each set. At the minimum I would like to at least practice twice a month since I need all the help I can get.

i actually have practiced everyday this summer. I only play 3 rounds a week. I can really work at something specific at the range, too bad the driver didn't work today....

Usually use NXT Extreme's or HX Hot's

Pretty much everyday, at least 6 days a week. Sometimes the sessions are 45 minutes of putting, some are 6 hour sessions to get ready for tournaments. It just depends, but I rarely go a day without picking up a club.

I roll a few putts across the carpet every day. Lately I've been trying to get outside for 30-45 minutes of chipping practice in the back yard. I'll go to the range once or twice a week and get out to play usually once a week.

Where do you practice? The only thing that keeps me from that sort of practice time (not that many hours maybe 2-3 a day) is price. For me to get a large bucket at the range, and hit and chip and putt or w/e costs the same as it does for me to go out and play 27 holes. Where I play jr's play all they can for 10$, so I tend to learn on the job I guess.

Typical week of practice consists of:

1000-1500 range balls
2-3 hours of short game every day
2-3 hours putting every day

I practice way more than I play. I feel that playing 36 holes and shooting bad numbers is a total waste of time.

How many of you work in golf retail/range/course? Some of you practice as much as I work. I work about 10hrs a day and all I can practice is small buckets 2-3 times a week during lunch hours. That's like half and hour of practice time. On my day off, I try to hit 2 large buckets for about 2-3 hrs.

I practice for a bit over an hour most days, almost entirely on chipping and putting and I really think it's starting to pay off.

I had 4 GIRs today and only 14 putts, not too bad for me.

i barely practise, getting on the course and playing is my practise. Or sometimes when im really in the mood ill hit 9 buckets of balls. Going to the range in the rain is the best.

I work at a golf course, but I also have a straight job as well. I just make time. Either before or after work or both. During the dead of winter its tougher since the days get so short but I still tear ass outta work so I can get in at least a small bucket and some putting.

My game is finally close to where I want it to be but there is always room for improvement. I was a 7 handicap 3 years ago when I decided to work at getting to scratch. At first it was tough draggin' my butt out of bed at 5:00 in the morning to go hit balls. Now its just second nature.

Practice an hour a day. Play every 2-3 weeks but end up practice putting on course since few people play when I do (either extreme morning or well into the afternoon).

Over the summer, I've been getting in at least one large bucket during the week with putting/chipping practice and a similar session on Saturday or Sunday mornings. There's been a dramatic improvement in my ball striking over that time.

I love practicing. If I had nothing but a 6 iron and 3 hours worth of balls, I'd be a happy man. Mixing in the other stuff is gravy.

Since I've started improving with just a standard stroke, I've been taking 5 out of every 30 balls I hit and starting to work on hitting a draw. I was out there for two hours today and wished I could have continued hitting for another two.
