So, I was supposed to play my first round of the year today but my buddy cancelled so couldn't make it. However, going to try and get out Thursday and a bit nervous about how I'll do and see how the swing change I made will impact my scoreing.

So, I don't know if anyone reads this thread but just wanted to say that Evolvr has been of a lot of help to me.

I had only played 5 rounds before today, the last being two weeks ago, and decided to play an executive course today.  Obviously because it is an executive course I used my irons most of the day.  I shot a 51 on par 30 on the front 9 and a lot of the tee shots went a lot further than I'm used to and I'm convinced that it's because my swing has improved dramatically that I have to figure out my distances (I hit into a net as practice rather than go to the range).  I started clubbing down a club and it was still going long so I started clubbing down two clubs and it was better.   On the back I shot 9 over par which for me is amazing.

I'm thrilled that the work I've been doing is, at the very least, helping me with distance.

Now if only my short game would cooperate. :-\

Oh, definitely will. The proof is in the pudding. I feel bad for my instructor, Stephen, because he's had me working in a particular piece for a while now and has tried at least three different methods to try and have it ingrained in me. Haha

That's not atypical. It doesn't mean you're not making any progress, just that over time the things we say change a little based on how we think you're perceiving them.

Half swings and punch shots to help you get around the course.

For me, the MOST important though on the course is "never stop playing golf". What I mean by that is to basically stay in the moment. It doesn't matter how shit your last shot was, your next one is an opportunity to get closer or into the hole. Keep grinding ALWAYS until the final putt drops. Always think about the shot in hand and never give up on a hole.

100% agree - half shots until you're hitting the ball consistently, then ramp it up ... gradually.    Taking big swings when things aren't going well never ends well

    • Yea Club Rat said it. I really enjoyed the Senator and the Judge, then over to Grand National where there a couple good courses plus a fun par 3. The one I do play whenever I visit there is Ross Bridge; something about this course that is just good fun. I hope to play more of the courses in the future, but tomorrow is promised to no one, so hope is the key word. Have Fun, iSank

    • Eh. He broke ONE of Tiger's records. Youngest to be ranked #1 in AJGA. It didn't help that Tiger's birthday is in late December, or that Tiger didn't play many AJGA events before he was 15. • Day 56: 4/19/2024 Okay, even though I'll be teeing it up in a tournament in less than a week. I couldn't find time to get to the range today.  I spent time on the indoor putting mat.  And I spent time in front of the mirror with my 7 iron. Then again later with the driver.  I also thoroughly cleaned all my clubs.
