PGA tour putting stats

Was looking at PGA putting stats and determined that the average PGA tour pro was more likely to one putt than two putt from inside 8 feet. And average PGA tour pro more likely to 3 putt when putting greater than 40 feet Can anyone verify these estimations? Or extrapolate something different?

Anything outside of 33' they're more likely to three-putt than one-putt.

50% is at eight feet, yes, so inside that they're gonna one-putt more than they two-putt (and three-putt almost never).

40 feet more likely to three-putt than two-putt or one-putt? That isn't likely to be right.

In your opinion (or to your knowledge, since I know you've played with a lot of situational stats) is there a length at which 3-putting becomes more likely than 2 putting?  Or is it too dependent on all of the other factors like green speed, amount of slope, etc.

Such a distance would be quite long. If you think about it, it would have to be so long that your average second putt was outside of eight feet.

How did you determine this? The eight foot we agree on makeake one putt distance but why 33" for three putts?

I got 40 feet from this table

Ernie Els is ranked 90th, right at the middle.

and he more likely  to 3 putt when 40' 9" away.

so that's where i got 40 feet.

The range from the best three putt player to the worst three putt player is from  50 feet to 30 feet.

Either way, these guys are all pretty good putters.  Specially those that have won tournaments including majors.  That means at one time they had a very hot flat stick.

Did you know… the average golfer isn't too much worse a putter than PGA Tour players?

I know.  Just noticed that after I clicked on the tour stats that someone posted.  Its just those that win that specific week are all putting better than most for that week.  I am going to have to start keeping track of my putting stats now, wonder how far I'm off.  I always seem to get pissed if I miss a few 6-8 footers in a round.
