Driver trajectory question: starts low, stays low-ish, then shoots up - steep AoA?

I occasionally get paired up with a good player, his driver trajectory is a little different than what I typically see. I guess from the side, it would look like this:

Is this because of a steep angle of attack? I always wondered why his trajectory looked the way it does. He doesn't look like he's doing anything different or out of the ordinary.

Too much spin, ballooning ball. Should launch the ball higher with less spin.

Good chance he's hitting down too much or he's missing it low in the face. Either way he's giving up some distance.

I'm surprised i don't see that trajectory more often. Yeah, given his mechanics I thought he should have been hitting it further.

Not sure these guys will appreciate me highlighting them, but your graph reminded me of this AWESOME game we used to play. We could get the ball to be heading down toward the ground about halfway between us, and then it'd shoot back up to the other guy's basket. Amazing what backspin can do.
