List the driver you see as the furthest and which driver as the most forgiving

I agree with colin here. When you hit it on the screws, you don't lose much if anything.

But on those rare times you don't hit it on the screws, I'd submit the newer clubs can find you a bunch of distance you didn't know was there.

I would vote for the G30 or Big Bertha drivers.

I have the TM RBZ Your 3 wood (14.5° and a slightly deeper face), and agree that it is the the farthest hitting 3 wood that I have ever hit.

However, as for the driver, I won an RBZ driver but it dies not outperform my R11, so the RBZ  stays in the basement. I concur with earlier postings that the TaylorMade R11 driver is a superior product to some of their later models.

Dude....Have you ever hit the R11S?  I own one.  I average 275 yards on my drives.  Sometimes I hit 260 sometimes I hit 310 all with the same driver.  I can tell you that when I hit 310 I'm not hitting it in the middle of the driver I'm hitting it towards the end and can feel the club twist a tad in my had whilst making the ball carry and carry.  I have a 110 mph swing speed and when I hit a ball off center with the SLDR it was DEAD!  Felt nowhere near as substantial as the R11S...I hit the R1....same cheap feeling as the SLDR.... It just doesn't feel the same....

I guarantee you that the R11 was leaps and bounds above anything TaylorMade had ever made.  They then honestly upped the performance of the R11s with a bigger head and more moi....Then after that it kind of plateaued and I would submit quality may have fallen off some.

Taylormade did it to themselves because they kept coming out with supposedly the "best" driver ever three months that was always "15 yards longer" than the previous one.  Up until the R11S that was absolutely true.  From the R11S on it's just bs advertising....

It's all about the shaft that's the engine of the club. Find a head you like and get fit for your shaft, get the right shaft and you'll gain distance and accuracy.

I'm just coming back to this blog after about a year, but I'm going to add my 2 cents here because my R11 is old but awesome, and you can get one for cheap on eBay, which is what I think people should do!

I just played with / adjusted the weights on my 10.5 R11, adding to the swing weight substantially, and got a significant boost in consistency in distance and dispersion.

I've had this club for years and still love it.  For the heck of it, I just bought a 2016 model M1 and am in the process of tweaking settings, but I think the R11 is going to stay in the bag.  It's an awesome driver!  I can imagine the R11s being slightly better because of the size being a bit larger. 

My R11 may be 7 years old, but it's a keeper!

If the club is fitted for you, then it any gains will be marginal and only exist on off-center hits.

I'll give my answer to the OP for 2018.

Ball Speed - Ping G400 Series, Titleist 917, Callaway Rogue, Cobra King

Forgiveness - Taylormade M4, Ping G400 Series

I would give the top to Ping G400 series as being the best overall driver of 2018.
