Does anyone play for money?  My skill level is good but not amazing. However, I only like to play golf if it's competitive, meaning there is money on the line.  And I don't really want to enter tournaments because only the top 2 or 3 people make money.  I'm more of the hustling type:  Challenging someone to a 1 on 1 game of golf for a few hundred dollars.  Does anyone else do this?  If so, how do you find partners to play with for money?

I have to believe that if you let it be known to the counter people at local muni's that you're looking for action in the "few hundred dollars" range that you'll soon have all you can handle.

Always with my brother-in-law. $10-$20 per stroke. We are pretty even so it's usually a wash unless one of us has a bad day. Then it can get pretty big. With my colleagues, typically $5 Nassau. With strangers - no.

My regular playing partner - my brother-in-law and I always play match play for who's buying dinner (for us two as well as my wife and his two kids and sometimes mother-in-law).  Usually ends up being around $30-50.  I've been eating for free for a couple seasons now.  hehe

Even par through 9 is my best.  I don't even want to think about what was my worst.

Just about every time out. Everybody I play with is willing to put something on the line, varying amounts depending on who I end up with. Usually at least a $10 Nassau. There is a small group of guys I won't play with because they only like big action, although a few of them will step it down in order to get a game on a given day.

    • Imma throw a dart in the dark as no one can tell what is happening once every fourth iron shot per your OP. This might sound counterintuitive but if ball position is too far back in the stance folks are known to throw down clubhead steeply. Could be happening. And yes, @billchaois not wrong; clubhead tends to bottom out wherever your pressure is. So slide forward (not sway), then hit.
    • Day 300 (!): did a stack session.
    • Day 24: Missed my weekly round due to a last minute little league makeup game this morning. Managed to get in some backswing rehearsals while grilling sausages for dinner, and then putted around the office/laundry room after dinner.
    • but I don't understand how that's possible you still want your head to stay back you don't want the upper body coming forward and plus I've tried feeling that and it made my fat shots worse and I then tend to pull and sky all my shots especially with driver because I get in front of it dont need force plates to see i finish on my left side
