I admit it I am using a mixed set of old clubs, there I said it, I was wondering how many other people on here are using or have an old set of clubs that they take out on occasion?

Perhaps you'll get some replies if you describe what you mean by "old" clubs. :-)

In the race of life, always back self-interest. At least you know it's trying.

Meh, I think this was just something on my mind that I kinda Blurted out on here, I use really old clubs that are as old if not older than me (I'm 26) then again you use what works for you, for me I'm used to using clubs with little or no forgiveness. Wanted to see if anyone else uses clubs of a comparable age.

Well, my current set of Tour Edge GeoMax 2  irons are several years old. and I have no plans to replace them. I think they are 8-9 years old. Maybe 10. I have a set of Tour Edge Iron Woods that I use every so often. They are way older than 10 years. I have several sets of old clubs in my garage, that just take up space.

My metal woods are component clubs, and are probably 6-7 years old.

I have nothing against the newer stuff, other than I don't think they would help my game that much to justify the cost.

A whole bunch of Tour Edge golf stuff......

I just gave up the steel shaft driver a few years ago. Still using my steel shaft nike 3 wood. irons were updated 2 years ago. doesn't really make any difference, balls still go right when they want to.

My dad recently got new irons and replaced his 15 ish year old cobra irons I think. My assistant golf coach at my school is also a teacher and doesn't have the budget for new clubs so he has been using his ping eye irons since he was in high school which were old when he was in high school. He has a 2 iron in the set and it is by far the hardest club I have ever tried to hit.

Is 2009 old yet?

Older, but certainly not old.

I used the same Wilson Goosenecks until 2012 when I got some Callaway X22 tours. I also have a Dunlop putter I received as a present when I was 13 (mind you that was 18 years ago) and I still like it better than the ping and oddessy I bought. The only relatively new thing I have is golf balls and wedges.

Positively ancient. Don't you know how many yards farther you could be hitting 2015 clubs?

I plan on upgrading later this year, I am getting a spring/summer job and planing on caddying on weekends (hopefully), I think I'll be getting Cleveland Classic XL Driver and Fairway wood, and Orlimar OCG Hybrid/Iron set. I've never been the "matching set" type of person even though it looks better if your clubs are all the same brand/set but it's not necessary for what I use them for.

Right now I think I'm going to buy a starter set to hold me over till I get enough for a good set, thinking the Tour Edge Zone, or the Tour Edge Reaction 2, both look good and won't break the bank! Only thing with cheap starter sets is where they are bulk/mass produced for affordability and quantity over quality is that sometimes you get a bad set where you have club heads break off, or damage to the club face, though you get what you pay for!

The Tour Edge Zone has nothing to do with Tour Edge, however the Reaction set is a nice one... Tour Edge is the ONLY manufacturer that has a lifetime warranty on their clubs... get the Reaction set or Backdraft and HP20 are on clearance because the HP25's just came out... Trust me Tour Edge is the way to go... (Notice all of my clubs are Tour Edge including my putter)
