Nice, . Same here.

Interesting article I just read.

If Rory McIlroy makes it to Sunday’s semifinals of Match Play, he’ll take on his opponent after spending Saturday night in Las Vegas at the Mayweather-Pacquiao Fight of the Century.

"Whether or not Rory McIlroy makes it past the quarterfinals of this week’s Match Play event in San Francisco, the world No. 1 will hop on his private jet and zip over to Las Vegas to be one of the A-listers ringside for the Floyd Mayweather-Manny Pacquiao Fight of the Century.

McIlroy is the top seed in the WGC-Cadillac Match Play event at Harding Park, and will have his own fight on his hands with the three guys allotted to his pod in the newly formatted competition that starts with round-robin group play. But Brandt Snedeker, Jason Dufner and Billy Horschel may be the undercard to the 1,140-mile round-trip itinerary Rory has planned before Sunday morning’s semis, according to the Daily Mail.

And that’s after McIlroy will have played two matches on Saturday -- assuming he makes it to the single-elimination portion of the program. So that could be 36 holes on Saturday, fight night in Vegas and then potentially 36 more holes Sunday back in San Francisco.

But what the hell? The wealthy four-time major champion can celebrate his birthday any way he darn pleases (he’ll turn 26 on May 4), and rolling out of bed and racing to the first tee is kind of his thing."

However, none of this will effect the beatdown he'll most likely give Dufner today

The semifinals Sunday morning start at like 6:30 am San Fran time. And if he wins, he'd have to play the final right after. This would be after finishing up late Saturday. Good luck with that.

Sandtrap is good. Duf clung on to 14 holes.

I vote we stop calling players "Rors", "Tigs", "Keegs", "Rickies", "Jords", "Bubbs", etc.

It's nauseating.

 Ha!  You got me good Dad-Dad-Dadio!

In all seriousness, I completely agree with you. It's the worst in baseball and hockey. Listen to a player interviewed after the game talking about his teammates and every one of them is some Childish sounding nickname based off (usually, not always) the first syllable of their last name.

OT, but golfers used to have some great handles - Golden Bear, the Shark, Boom Boom, the Hawk (Hogan), the Walrus, the Big Easy... Now Tiger is Tigs and Rory is Rors. Weak!

    • Day 11: did mirror work for a while. Worked on the same stuff.
    • I'm not sure you're calculating the number of strokes you would need to give correctly. The way I figure it, a 6.9 index golfer playing from tees that are rated 70.8/126 would have a course handicap of 6. A 20-index golfer playing from tees that are rated 64/106 would have a course handicap of 11. Therefore, based on the example above, assuming this is the same golf course and these index & slope numbers are based on the different tees, you should only have to give 5 strokes (or one stroke on the five most difficult holes if match play) not 6. Regardless, I get your point...the average golfer has no understanding of how the system works and trying to explain it to people, who haven't bothered to read the documentation provided by either the USGA or the R&A, is hopeless. In any case, I think the WHS as it currently is, does the best job possible of leveling the playing field and I think most golfers (obviously, based on the back & forth on this thread, not all golfers) at least comprehend that.
    • Day 115 12-5 Skills work tonight. Mostly just trying to be more aware of the shaft and where it's at. Hit foam golf balls.
    • Day 25 (5 Dec 25) - total rain day, worked on tempo and distance control.
    • Yes it's true in a large sample like a tournament a bunch of 20 handicaps shouldn't get 13 strokes more than you. One of them will have a day and win. But two on one, the 7 handicap is going to cover those 13 strokes the vast majority of the time. 20 handicaps are shit players. With super high variance and a very asymmetrical distribution of scores. Yes they shoot 85 every once in a while. But they shoot 110 way more often. A 7 handicap's equivalent is shooting 74 every once in a while but... 86 way more often?
