About five or six years ago, I was at the LPGA’s Safeway Classic. I was on the tee box of a par-3 hole, watching the Paula Creamer group. She had the honor, and was waiting for the green ahead of her to clear. While she was waiting she took some practice swings.

Three times in a row, and I had a good view of this, her clubhead hit the ground in the same spot and made the same sound when it hit the ground. Every time.

What this means to me is that she had the bottom of her swing placed perfectly.

My swing isn’t like that. I hit the ball a little fat, a little thin, sometimes just right. I have hitting the ball straight pretty well figured out. What I would like to know now is how do I get my swing to bottom out, in two dimensions (forward-back, up-down), in the same spot consistently

Any thoughts? I don’t find much said about this in golf instruction literature.

Any thoughts? I don’t find much said about this in golf instruction literature.

That's one of the things most commonly talked about in golf instruction books. They may phrase it differently, but hitting the ball solidly is one of the most important things in the golf swing.

Keys #1-#3 are primarily concerned with this.

You don't have a My Swing thread, so… all I can offer is this: .

Thanks. I'll look into this.

Hope it helps. You're a regular on the site so I'm sure you've run into a few 5SK threads ;-)
