USWO starts tomorrow. Caddie got kicked out for taking photos of something off limits. Michelle Wie seems to be wearing some kind of brace on her left foot.

Sei Young Kim's caddie got kicked out by taking a snapshot of a pin location drawing/picture.

I am looking forward to watching the tournament live.

Will the USGA app work for this tourney like the men's? Why isn't Cheyenne Woods playing?

One of the Golf Evolution students, like last year's USWO, is playing. Had a practice round with Paula on Monday, Lexi yesterday… and is playing some good golf. She should have a good four days of fun. :)

Why isn't Cheyenne Woods playing?

Because she couldn't qualify?   This is US Open and Cheyenne hasn't done much in LPGA, her ranking world ranking isn't good enough, etc..

I take it her path is way in to out. Face may not be rolling shut but well closed compared to path. Good music curation Fox.

Don't look now but I watched for 3 hours yesterday and the Fox coverage was fantastic. Positives: 1. WAY more golf shown than other networks. 2. They went from shot to shot to shot in rapid succession, not much lingering waiting for the girls to analyze. 3. Great balance of drives, approach, pitches, and putts. 4. Lots of time between commercials, I'd guess they averaged around 15 golf shots in each segment. 5. Very little studio time, a couple puff pieces on Stacy Lewis and someone else but not too intrusive. 6. Much more cohesion amongst the commentators, they're learning. 7. Graphics better than any other network. 8. Much improvement on following balls in flight. 9. Keeping the person putting and the hole in the same shot (not 100% but more frequently than the other networks do). Was a very enjoyable watch. In my mind, they have surpassed the other networks already.

I was there yesterday.  The course is absolutely beautiful and in great shape.  Saw a lot of Wie, Lewis, and Ko.  Wie is so strikingly tall and skinny, you can't tell on tv just how much of a beanpole she is.

Ok...but is she as beautiful in person as on TV? I find her so elegant when she strolls down the fairway.

When I saw her play in person, my impression was that she was skinny.  She almost looked smaller than her height b/c of it.   She seems to attract the most crowd no matter who is in the lead.

Love the fact that Lewis is right up there with a chance to win.   In Bee Park looked helpless with her putting.   My money is on Amy Yang to win it.

Agreed with @Gunther on Fox c overage, better t han The Golf Channel one.   Couldn't recognize Julie Inkster with the make up.

I tend to agree. It was not frustrating at all yesterday. It was quite enjoyable. Maybe the brown look of Chambers Bay and lack of fans contributed a lot to Fox's failure three weeks ago. Or they have improved a ton in a short amount of time. They are using Holly Sonders correctly now.

Yes.  She's an attractive girl.

Yea, I live south of York down I-83 and I had now idea what they had there.  Just gorgeous.

Yea I agree.  Also, she was playing with Mo Martin, so that probably made her look even taller haha.  I watched that group, and the group behind with Ko and Lewis a good bit.  Lewis was striping her irons.

Wie is nice but I kinda fancy Sandra Gal and Jessica Korda though lol...and the course (at least from the TV point of view) is awesome....J Cream you play Briarwood, Honey Run much?

I"ve seen lots of unimpressive golf from the leaders for the last 20 minutes... ugh.

Wie has a boot? on her ankle? Why the heck is she out there?

Ko and Wie need to run from Ledbetter ... imho. Why? I just don't see anything good happening.

    • Day 11: did mirror work for a while. Worked on the same stuff.
    • I'm not sure you're calculating the number of strokes you would need to give correctly. The way I figure it, a 6.9 index golfer playing from tees that are rated 70.8/126 would have a course handicap of 6. A 20-index golfer playing from tees that are rated 64/106 would have a course handicap of 11. Therefore, based on the example above, assuming this is the same golf course and these index & slope numbers are based on the different tees, you should only have to give 5 strokes (or one stroke on the five most difficult holes if match play) not 6. Regardless, I get your point...the average golfer has no understanding of how the system works and trying to explain it to people, who haven't bothered to read the documentation provided by either the USGA or the R&A, is hopeless. In any case, I think the WHS as it currently is, does the best job possible of leveling the playing field and I think most golfers (obviously, based on the back & forth on this thread, not all golfers) at least comprehend that.
    • Day 115 12-5 Skills work tonight. Mostly just trying to be more aware of the shaft and where it's at. Hit foam golf balls.
    • Day 25 (5 Dec 25) - total rain day, worked on tempo and distance control.
    • Yes it's true in a large sample like a tournament a bunch of 20 handicaps shouldn't get 13 strokes more than you. One of them will have a day and win. But two on one, the 7 handicap is going to cover those 13 strokes the vast majority of the time. 20 handicaps are shit players. With super high variance and a very asymmetrical distribution of scores. Yes they shoot 85 every once in a while. But they shoot 110 way more often. A 7 handicap's equivalent is shooting 74 every once in a while but... 86 way more often?
