What kind of no name or unheard of name clubs do you have that ended up being really good and one of your favorites?

Pics would be nice............

I guess you could call Edel "no name" clubs.

Bought some irons from Hireko Golf.  They are called Warp Speed.  Got a 5i thru 9i with R Flex Steel Shafts.  Got them 1" over regular length and 1* upright.  Have hit them at the range a couple of times and really like them.  Scheduled to play a round of golf on Friday with them.  Haven't played in about 6 weeks because of ankle issues.  However, at the range, they really are nice.

Only "no-name" club in the bag is my Pinfire putter. Looks like this one but mine is center shafted and silver.

Not sure what you mean by "no name."

Some smaller companies which do their own R&D; have niche market followings: Tour Edge clubs and Hopkins wedges come to mind.

Also, some companies furnish component heads for people who want to build their own clubs, or have the clubs build at a small custom club shop. Hireko falls into this category.

Years ago, the Pro Tour irons and metal woods were very popular in Oklahoma and Texas in the custom club shops. I played with Pro Tour Black irons - Ping Eye2 clones - from 1994 to 2008.

Pro Tour made such good clubheads - especially irons - that they lost a patent lawsuit to Ping in the late 1990s. As a result, PT had to melt down the heads of all unsold sets.

Some clubheads of the "open stock" components - the model doesn't change much year to year - are quite good. You just have to check with other players to see if the resulting clubs and the clubfitter service is decent. Also, the small-shop component clubs tend to have low resale or trade-in value.

An STX putter. One of those cases where I went into the store to buy a new putter and I decided I would try putters without paying attention to the brand and price see what I liked best. The STX was the winner. Price ended up being pretty good too.

      Day 37: did my drill swings in the garage with foam balls for about 15 minutes. Working on getting my backswing more turned and then going from there.

      Thanks but honestly… I don't know any other way. I don't mind being wrong so long as I know where to go from there. I don't like being wrong — I'd love to get things right (which is different than "being right"). I recommend grabbing a furniture slider or a paper plate or something, and doing something like this: First, make a swing where you let your trail foot swing out as you turn, then twist that foot back in. From DL and FO, it'll look like this: Then, during a regular backswing, try to twist your foot in slightly (demonstrated in the left image): You'll notice a crease along the trail side of your hip, your pelvis will "fold" into that thigh (internal rotation of the hip joint), and your "bits" will be squished a little between your pelvis and your thigh. Ben Hogan said once: "At the top of the back swing the groin muscle on the inside of your rt [sic] leg near your right nut will tighten," Hogan wrote. "This subtle feeling of tightness there tells you that you have made the correct move back from the ball." I don't know about that, but you will probably feel something down around that area.
