When I try to draw the ball. My driver swing had never been better up until a few weeks ago. I had a nice draw from making sure my swing path went out to about 1:00. But then I started getting these damn snap hooks where I felt like I was hitting the top of my driver like I was pushing my right arm up through to the right and leaning way back, like I was hitting up a steep hill. I thought it was my old driver with the long shaft I spoke about before but it's still happening like 3 times per round with my new G30 with the much shorter shaft. Now I am starting to get my old slice back bc I am afraid to swing out. Has anyone else ever experienced this before? I know this sounds like a dumb possibility, but do you think I might be teeing the ball up too high? I used the same swing on a 3 wood the other day and absolutely blasted a shot from the rough that traveled almost 300 right below the green after hitting a tree with my tee shot on a 500+ hole. Obviously the ball was on the ground. Perhaps the ball being lower reminds my subconscious to swing down.....thoughts?

Have you seen this thread? If I had to guess I would say the angle of attack is too steep.

Also feel free to start a swing thread.

Yeah I would avoid teeing the ball low for that very reason.

Ah ok, thanks! I tried to start a swing thread but my videos all uploaded upside down. No one can figure out why. In my phone it is the right way but when I send it to my email and download it onto my PC it flips.

I found my snap hooks were mostly caused by hitting too far out on the toe of the club. YMMV.

Like any software, there is a learning curve. There's a flip and rotate 90 at the top. You'll have to rotate 90 a couple times to get the video right-side up. Flip just turns right hand into left hand.

Then you can do things like have the first part of it at normal speed, then copy and paste and make the second time in slow motion. You can also cut out the extra frames you don't want. And you can add some fun effects to it like I did in this old vid of my swing I took last December which by the way was upside down, too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rftQs6f64sk

Oh my god, Mvmac was spot on. I had my five year old video me tonight and what I saw was unbelievable. My swing is so steep that the club actually passes parallel over the top of my head. I have this weird chicken wing thing with my left arm upon impact. Yet the ball I hit on that shot was a perfect high draw that went over the driving range net over 250 yards down the range. And it cleared the net so it went at least 290+. But the swing was so bad I can't even believe I even take that crap onto the course. I have no extension through the swing and I have absolutely no idea how to extend my arms on my follow through. I tried to manually do so and I hit like a 225 yard low slice. I think I'm doomed. I've tried shall owing out my swing before but it encouraged the snap hooks even more. I'm obviously not doing it right. How am I getting these long drives where about half are great with such a horrible swing? My iron video doesn't look nearly as awful but I know it isn't great. I wish we could post videos from our phones on here.

What sort of phone? I've had no trouble using my GS3 for evolvr (other than it was upside down when it got to my computer and I had to flip it). It's an indirect process, but it's possible.

    • Is it? I bought the Stack radar to replace my PRGR based on what Stack told me! When I am swinging for speed, the PRGR would miss 50%-80% of my backswings due to a higher speed. The stack seldom misses those- at least for me.
    • As an analyst by nature, I would like to compare the scores under both systems. It is something we can easily do if we have the data. I actually thought the new system was less fair to those whose game was on the decline - like mine! Old: Best 10 of last 20 scores with the .96 multiplier. Course handicap excluded course rating and overall par. New: Best 8/20. Course handicap includes course rating -par. My understanding is Stableford caps scores at Net double bogey like stroke play. If so, handicap should be slower to rise because you are only using 8 versus 10 scores. If I am missing something, I am curious enough to  want to understand what that may be. My home course tees that I play are 72.1/154 now. My best score out here is 82. When my game started to decline, my handicap didn’t budge for 13 rounds because of good scores in my first 8! I know I am an anomaly but my handicap has increased almost 80% in the past few years (with only a few rounds this year). For a few months I knew I was losing every bet because my game was nowhere near my handicap. I suspect I have steamrolled a few nuances but that shouldn’t matter much. When I have modeled this with someone playing the same tees and course, one good round, or return to form, will immediately reduce the handicap by some amount.
