New Guy from Michigan

Hello everyone,

My name is Matt and I live in southwest michigan. I am brand new to the game of golf. I recently bought a set of clubs and just hit the range for the first time today. Hoping to learn the game and enjoy spending some days out on a course. After the first time on the range today, i realize I have a long way to go before I am any good but again hope to learn from you all here.

Welcome.    Read everything from this site you can find.   There is a ton of great information and most everyone is very eager to share.     This site is run by one of the authors of "Lowest Score Wins".    Buy the book and read it twice.  There is also a place to upload your golf swing for a free analysis here too.

Thanks for joining. This is a great place to learn and become a better golfer.  I would recommend the Swing Thoughts and Member Swings sections for learning.  You can post videos of your swing and expert instructors and other players who have corrected the same issues will help.

Thanks for the welcome. I will post a video after the next time I hit the range. We did get hit pretty good but not as bad as some other areas of the state. Where in Michigan are you located?

I live in Davison.   It is about 1 hour north of Detroit and 1 hour west of Port Huron.

Cool. I'm heading that way this weekend. My wifes family is from Lennox Township in the Richmond area
