73 on a par 71 around 6900 yards yesterday.

Hit the ball well again both off the tee and with the irons. It wasn't superb, but all-in-all, it was a pretty good day. The highlight was making three birdies in a row. One on a 570 par 5, the next two on shorter par 4's where I made 20-25 foot putts. I made two bogies on the previous two holes and bounced back nicely.

I missed two very short putts for par and a handful of makeable birdie putts. It could have been a lot better, but I'll take it given how little golf I have been playing. I'm hoping to get out the next couple weekends as well to get my game in shape.

If I continue to hit the ball like this (10 fairways, 11 greens), I'll be happy. I'm putting better, but still threw away more than a few shots on the green. My 29 putts should have been about 26.

Fairways and Greens.

Shot another 80 on my home course. This is getting redundant. Playing just OK. Can't seem to get the putter working. Missed several chances to save par from inside 10 ft and pulled all of them?? I guess it is time to get on the practice green for a while.

I went into last night needing to shoot 36 to finish the year with and average below 40 (31 par) on my league. I made a huge par save on 8 and came to 9 needing par to get my 36. I set up for a fade and hit the ball straight as you can point. It was long, but left. I had a tree between me and the flag and about 30 yards to the pin. The ball got up just a little too fast and hit the smallest branch on the tree. It came straight down into deep rough. From there I came up short of the green. I had to try and sink a chip from 40 feet and ran it 6 feet by. Two put for a double and a 38.

All in all I had three doubles. Two were just bad. Oh well. I still won the scoring title by 1.4 strokes.

82 today, and that was about the worst score I could have made. I was just on the wrong side of the line today. If a tiny branch could get in the way, it did. If I could lip out, I did. If I could get a bad lie, I did. I didn't strike the ball badly, putt badly, or have an horrible short game. I just couldn't score at all. It's very disappointing.

Sounds like you and I played the same game. I had three drives that if they had flown 5 yards shorter I would have saved at least 4 shots. I had a putt roll over air. It rolled over the right side of the cup and stopped 6" past the hole. There is no way it could have stayed out, but it did. I had a pitch shot land on the green and defy physics by hopping 90 degrees right instead of towards the hole.

Every time I think "yay, my handicap is going to go up" I have to throw in a score like I did today: a 74. I even closed with three birdies on 16, 17, and 18.

Not a bad day, though. I think I realized I was getting "bored" with some things in my game - my course, my luck, etc. - and really tried to bear down. Number of bad shots were cut in half, holed more putts, that sort of thing. Amazing how much "trying" helps.

Round one of our club championship. I am in the third of three flights but it's all about fun. We are using a modified Stableford system, with double bogey a zero and triple and above a minus one. We have a quota of points to make based on handicap. Mine was 9 and I made 9 points.

There was a +5 and a +3 in our flight so I am in striking distance. Tomorrow the quotas will be adjusted.

Total Choke job yesterday. I played pretty well overall. We played the back and I birdied 16 to go to +2 with two to play. I blasted my tee shot on 17 right down the middle. I have not hit one that well on this hole in a few years. I had 110 yards to the flag. The ball was about a foot above my feet and had a huge clump of mud on it, but I was not worried. I pushed it right but caught a huge break. My ball was sitting between the sign for the 18th tee and the ball washer. After taking relief I had an easy pitch. I skull it and luckily hit the flag. I am left with a 30' par put, but my lagging had been great all day. I miss by 6' and lip out my bogey putt. I come to 18 needing par for a 39. I have never broken 40 on this course. I don't feel good over my tee shot, but instead of backing off, I chunk the tee shot and the second one as well. I smoke the third through the dogleg and have to go out sideways with my 4th. At this point I need to hole out from 130 yards for par. I come up 10 yards short of the green and make a poor pitch. Two putts later I have a tripple bogey 8 and a 42.

I'm kinda embarrassed to even post this but I had to get it off of my mind... I get to play once a week usually on Sunday mornings. I'd say I'm about a 10 handicap shooting anywhere between 76 to 85. That being said...

Yesterday shot 42 on the front... had a triple, double, and one birdie.

Then on the back... 31! Birdied 10,11,12,14,15,17,18!!! Had bogeys on 13 & 16. Without a doubt the best 9 holes of golf I have ever played. Could not miss a put outside of 20 feet, except for the 2 bogeys.

Played at Santa Ana Golf Club in Bernalillo, NM just outside Albuquerque. Not too tough a course but all the golf one needs…

I usually play pro v1's except on the front I was not hitting the ball very well so I switched to a Titleist so/lo. I guess when you're in a groove it doesn't matter what ball you play .

Thanks for the ear! GG

Played my home course on Saturday. Shot a 75. I'm still hitting the ball relatively well but struggling with some of my long-putting. The course I play at has big greens and I had problems with lag-putting.

Just two birdies in the round. Could have been better, but I always think that!

Two weeks ago played Rio Grande GC in South Fork, Colorado. A beautiful course but since I could not hit my driver straight and lost 8 tee balls I shot a 93. Opps. Last week played a local course, hit my driver in play, and shot 73. Then today played Sedona Golf Resort in Sedona, Arizona. Once again could not hit the driver and shot 89. When I hit my driver bad it is like marching golf... left, right, left, right... Agggggh. It is sooo frustrating when I can't keep that darn club in play!!!

I know the saying goes Drive for Show and Putt for Dough, but most of my best rounds have been the ones where the driver was strong. If you are consistently hitting 3 from the tee, you can't score. No matter how many putts you drain.

Well I got a 58 ( 9 holes and a 40 par i think ) Im 13 and started playing when i was 10..but stopped for a while , so i think im doing quite well.

I got Two pars which i was really happy about. on two par threes.

What happends was I done a 125 yard driver..played about 100 yards off the green then i took another shot with a 7 iron landed before the green and roled and roled and roled. and it landed about 5-7 feet off the pin. Which I putted.

For the seconds par First Drive hit the rough..I had to play a low shot to get onto the green. and sure as hell it rolled and rolled and rolled about a 10 feet put..which caught the outside and rolled in
