What'd You Shoot Today?

Recommended Posts

51/48 to finally break 100! If I could only putt. (I had six 3 putts today) I would be on the verge of breaking 90. One goal down and its not even march!

I play nine holes at a time, so my last round was in October of last year and shot a 44.

Shot an 84 last Friday at Mt. Si. Started off very poorly and shot a 45 on the front and then found a groove and went 39 on the back. Short game was on.

Played a small nine hole par three course. Par 27 shot 34. Not great

39-39 for a 78 (+8). Really happy with how I was striking the ball today. Only had two really unfortunate swings and was able to recover from them quite well. Just what I needed before my cousin's bachelor party in Vegas and probably two rounds of golf next weekend.

More than I wanted to, but still above ground hitting the ball so I'm happy.

Only ended up playing 5 holes cause the weather was horrible, ended up 6 over :(, the wind was crazy

Shot a 45 on 9 holes today (par 37), not bad considering I started double bogey, triple bogey on the first two holes.

39-39=78 Hit it pretty well. Only got up and down once. But overall not bad for first time out since September. Was nice just to be able to get out after this crappy winter.

Shot in the 110 range from the tips over the weekend......had been months and months and you could tell, it was brutal....the greens were rolling around 14, I don't think I could have shot par if I dropped the ball in front of each green and started from there, LOL.....short game was ugly....luckily, had a fun 4some, we laughed it off and had a good time....

Well, it was yesterday and it was a 101... Still, a bad day on the golf course is better than any day at work

My only problem with golf is that I am usually standing too close to the ball............ after I hit it.

    • Went back to check to make sure I had captured all the “birds”…best finish to date - with 13 birds and 1 eagle…..4 holes escaped - but I did at least par them.  Looking forward to 2025 and making it a full card of birdies or better…
    • Day 252 (11 Jan 25) - Got in some 54° wedge work off the mini-mat in the backyard - hitting from the tight lies side of the mat.  Worked on distance control - picking a landing target ahead of where I wanted the ball to finish.  Solid session - getting some nice finishes close to the pin “target”.  Worked from distances ranging from 10yds to 20yds.
    • Just like the 2022, 2021, 2020, 2023, and 2024 topics, we're doing it again in 2025! Once again, I'd like to birdie every hole at Whispering Woods in 2025 (and maybe every numbered hole on other courses). I'd like you to join me on this quest. I'll have a better chance this year if I don't completely screw up my left thumb in August, too… 😉 This year's spreadsheet is below: 2025 TST Birdie Challenge - Google Sheets Please click through, add your name, home course, and location, and when you make a score on the holes as you play them, update your line in the spreadsheet with your ringer score, basically. The idea is to score a birdie or better on each hole on the course this year. If you're above a certain handicap and would like to make it a par challenge, go for it! Just add that note to the Notes column. Please leave the formatting as is. And note that you only write down one score - if you birdie a hole three times, you aren't writing down -3. It's just your best individual score for each hole. We can all cheer each other on and see where this takes us! If you truly play a TON of different courses, then follow these two guidelines: If you just play a lot of golf, but still get 20 or 25 (or more) rounds in on one course, consider making that your home course and just doing the birdie challenge there. If you truly play only 20-40 rounds per year, and never more than a handful at the same course, consider trying to birdie holes numbered 1 to 18 across all of your courses. Or even doing it twice. Yeah, some hole #17s will be easier birdies than others, but that's why you might do it twice.
    • He was lied to on several fronts. But, was also dumb enough to believe them all.
