What'd You Shoot Today?

Background: I started playing back in May of this year. I started out at the driving range for about a month and a half going once sometimes twice a week. Towards the end, I was awesome at the driving range. I thought I'd break 100 on my first day out. I shot a 120.

Saturday, I shot a 94. For some of you that might be the worst score for the year. For me, it's a reason to keep playing!!!

It took me about 18 outings, but I finally did it. I shot an 8 (34 par) over on the front nine and a 16 (36 par) over on the back nine. Towards the end, I was just counting how many strokes I'd have to save to guarantee breaking 100. I even had a chance to break 90! That would have been unbelievable.

How long did it take you guys to break 100?

A pretty nondescript 89 on Fox Run today. Driving was good except for a few duck-hooks, iron play was amazing, and chipping was very good. Just the putter didn't work (predictably: error must go somewhere). 9/14 fairways, 8/18 greens, 39 putts.

I shot a 90 (45+45) at City Park (par 72, 69.2/121, 6465 yds.) on Friday. Started out poorly (went to Great American Beer Festival the night before, had to shake the cobwebs out), then birdied #4 and #6. Pretty decent day overall for me. 2 birdies, 3 pars, 7 bogeys, 5 doubles, 1 triple. 4 FW, 3 GIR, 31 putts, 1 penalty.

Shot a 5 over 77 today. Was 2 for 5 from the sand, but struggled off the tee a little bit w/ lost ball and one in the hazard. Plus I missed a coupla short birdie putts and only made one which was a two-putt birdie. Really should have shot even.

A 78, with a 8 on the card at the first i was pretty gutted and felt like ripping the card up but plodded along, 9 birdie putts and made only 3 bit disappointed but hey only room for improvement, highlight was driving the dog leg right 10th par 4 338yards to about 12 feet missed the eagle putt but left a tap in for birdie :) if only they were all as straight forward eh.

79, white tees, very windy, Lake View. I forgot my putter(s) at home and had to borrow one. I think I had something like 36 putts. The slow slow near-winter-time green speeds didn't help.

Erik J. Barzeski —  I knock a ball. It goes in a gopher hole. 🏌🏼‍♂️

Ram22592 I see you play Fort Jackson. I started playing golf at Shaw AFB when I was stationed there. I was a member of Fort Jackson though because that was my favorite place to play golf. I miss those two courses, two great courses. When I was a member back in 94-95 it was $20 a month for unlimited golf... MAN I MISS golf in the military..
