I have been trying the advice that was given in my swing thread focusing on Key #1.  Before we get too involved with the question I know that a good ball striker can have the ball positioned anywhere in his stance and make good contact and take a good divot, etc.  That being said I am not a good ball striker. I sometimes move the ball around just to work on the feel of hitting the ball in different places but for real practice and playing i tend to have the ball just a lil back of center to try and keep from hitting the ball fat.

Last night and today it felt like i needed to move the ball forward, maybe a ball forward of middle, for the swing to feel natural and to not hit thin.

So is this just a coincidence or is the fact that my head is not moving away so much from target thus causing the apex of my natural swing to be more forward?

I think it would be your turning better and getting your weight more to your left foot by impact.  Both of these allow the low point of the swing to get centered or forward of center depending on the club.  Sounds like you are getting it though! Keep it going!

For a stock shot with most irons, play it a ball or two inside the left heel (left ear), ball or two forward of the left heel with a driver.
