Why is LW usually less bounce than SW?

I know the ultimate answer will be do what works for you but I like hearing people's opinions here. I'm probably gonna roll with a 54.08 58.11 combo but most people seem to have their 54-56 degree wedge higher bounce and their 58-60 lower. I would think that courses with former bunkers are either a)crappier courses or b) it just rained. In those conditions I figure you wouldn't need a ton of loft. I would want a softer landing on a fast green which I seem to find on courses with fluffier sand. 

Tell me what I'm missing here.

Sandwedge is used out of the sand and a blast out of the sand requires the most bounce.

Understood, but I'm assuming you can use anything from 54-60 out of sand

True, but you don't want maximum bounce on all the wedges so that you have options for different lies.

I know, I'm just why the lower bounce is usually on the higher lofted wedge? To me it makes more sense on a lower loft

My lob wedge has 22° bounce and I can hit it off everything from hardpan to the lushest, fluffiest of lies.

My 54° has 17°, and my pitching wedge (48°) has 14°.

They're still different bounces and Edels are aren't typical wedges.

I think they typically have less bounce because the "common" thought is that sand wedges will be used out of sand more than lob wedges. Also with less bounce the leading edge will sit more flush to the ground so it's easier to get "under" the ball for the higher shots. This isn't really true (or doesn't have to be true) but that's what I think the thought is behind it.

I dont have a lob wedge, I have 2 sand wedges, on with 54° and one with 58°... my general rule of thumb on SW vs LW if said lofted wedge has more bounce or the same as the standard 56° SW in it's product line it is still a sand wedge.
