I have done a lot of reading on the forums over the past few months, so I figured I should go ahead and join.

I have a wife and four kids, so my time at the course is limited, but I enjoy getting away once a month to spend some time on the course with friends/family.  My oldest sons are slowly getting into it, so it makes for a good day while the girls go and do girly things :)

Welcome to The Sand Trap, Lloyd, from another Virginian.  If you've been lurking for a while, you can probably find your way around, but if you need any help, ask someone, me included.

Actually, I am wondering if there is a thread with recommended professionals in a given area for lessons?  I am in Virginia Beach and I would be interested in seeing if others in the Hampton Roads area have had success with any given professional.

I am also interested in finding out with other members of TST use to film their swings in slo-mo?  I currently use a cell phone for those duties and I am sure there are far better alternatives!  :)

I can get you some advice for the second question, in the form of this article:

As for instructors around Virginia Beach, I'm no help.  Maybe your neighbor  @GolfLug can weigh in, although I know he's worked with @iacas, sort of a long distance affair.

Hi @Lloyd Martinez, welcome. I am from Norfolk. If you need to work with a good professional, I would recommend Jason Bowman. I have not worked with him personally but have heard good things about him. You can also work online with the Evolvr program run by the owners of the site.

Great, the link is very helpful!

I wonder if Jason goes to a different driving range for lessons?  Kempsville Greens drivng range is limited to 185 yards or less  :)

I'm also stopping in to say hello from Hampton Roads.  I live in Chesapeake, work in Norfolk, and play most of my golf in Virginia Beach.  I, too, have 4 kids, limited free time, but love to play whenever I can.  In fact, I'm always looking for playing partners, as most of my friends only want to play 2 or 3 times per year.

As for the instructor, I think Jason also works with Red Wing and Bow Creek. I haven't had a lesson from him, but he's a good guy and I've chatted with him quite a bit at "Your Golf Ball Shop" on Indian River Rd.
