Basically put flypaper on the front of a self-driving car so when it hits a pedestrian they stick to it and won't suffer secondary injuries from being thrown through the air.

It's a very clever solution but my first thought is that people will race to be the first to post a youtube video showing themselves riding the car on the front end.

And when the car, with the pedestrian stuck on the front, proceeds to run into some other solid object, like another car or a wall, before it comes to a complete stop?

Well, if the car doesn't hit anything else, it can automatically re-route to the hospital and take it's victim straight to the ER!  Life. Saved.

Yea that was my first thought, as well. What happens when a struck pedestrian is stuck to the car and has a front row seat to a high speed collision with a pole or a building?
