Kind of surprised to see Shinnecock getting another Open so quickly after 2018, and obviously not surprised at all that Oakmont is back.

My guess is that another west coast venue (probably Olympic Club or Chambers Bay) hosts the 2027 Open and Pebble Beach gets it in either 2029 or 2030 if they go back on the 'Pebble at every new decade' routine.

2027 is going to have to be somewhere in the Midwest; no course between California and Pittsburgh is scheduled to host the Open for the next nine years after 2017.

Really wish some of the other wonderful west coast courses would get the privilege to host. LA Country Club is gonna be fun. Wish Spyglass, Bandon Dunes, Cypress Point would get a shot. Also, The Prairie Club in Nebraska is an awesome place. Wish they would open their eyes to some middle America venues; too often overlooked.
