Toned, athletic, and lovely. Never said otherwise. My point is that compared to some players, she doesn't have legs quite as much like those of a sprinter or soccer player. I think she could, but it's possible that's just her body type. The quote you had mention her focusing on her hamstring and glute strength which I find interesting.

You do know that size and strength don't necessarily go hand in hand. 

And if she wants to strengthen her glutes, hip flexors, and hams, she should CONTINUE doing the squats and dead lifts. She's probably just not doing them correctly.

Yes, it's not a strict one to one relationship, but training for strength tends to increase muscle fiber size (cross-sectional area). This along with some decrease in body fat% tends to create the 'toned' effect of larger muscles showing through the subcutaneous fat you tend to see in someone who trains.

Taller people with average builds tend to be stronger than shorter people with average builds because their similar proportions per muscle group on a larger frame typically means they have a larger total volume of muscle.

For light weight classes of powerlifting, I don't see many 'tall and thin' types who fit the weight class. It seems that leg mass (and/or core mass) makes a difference. Perhaps power-lifting has a disadvantage for height because being taller requires you to move the weight farther. In rowing where leverage (efficiency) and fitness both matter a lot, you do get the tall-thin type in the light weight classes alongside those with more prominent muscles. But they likely have about the same volume of muscle just stretched over different length skeletal frames.

Possibly golf is somewhere in-between the power / leverage requirements of these two sports. But I think the physical demands of golf are closer to sprinting say than marathoning because there's relatively little need for efficiency.

    • Day 12: did the yardstick putting drill for a bit while watching tv. 
    • Hole 6, 185 uphill par 3, wind out of the right. I hit a 7 iron to 5-FT left of the pin. The ball landed about 185.5 yards. I drained the putt for a birdie, and most likely a skin.  2nd place is more of a best swing made. 110 yard wedge shot, where I did what I wanted in the back swing and downswing.  I hit a 75% partial wedge 95%. It was flushed, flighted, and beautiful to watch fly over the green. 🤣. I will need to redial in the wedges sometime. Since I am making an effort to make my former 3/4 swing length my full swing length. 
    • Is that like "the longest yardstick you can find"? I don't have Airtags but I'd call all of them Airtags too.!
    • Yea, that makes sense.  I remember an Open tournament when they brought out the wind meter one day because balls were being blown around the green. I think it was 45+ sustained, which probably means 60 mph gusts.  I think for the most part, it isn't something that needs to be taken into account.  Also, a golf ball is designed to optimally move through the air. It has better aerodynamics than a sphere.  Thanks for your expertise on this. That makes sense. I know about how wind diminishes the lower in height you go. I didn't know it went near zero at the ground. I deal more with tall structures (utility poles), and we have to take into account height and impacts of wind on the pole. A bit of experience, but wasn't sure how close to zero, non-impactful it was on the golf ball on the ground. 
    • Day 2 (7 Aug 25) - More work on tempo with mid-irons, moved to wedges for the balance of the drill.
