"5 Minutes Daily" Practice Challenge August 2016

8/29 (part II) - greenside chipping with putting technique x 30 mins over lunch break at nearby course.

*in the 5 rounds that immediately preceded my learning AimPoint Express I had a whopping 21 3-putts. In the immediate 5 rounds that followed, just 5.

8/29/2016:

Nothing fancy today. 15 minutes of slow swings hitting balls with my pitching wedge. Focusing on making a good turn and checking the feeling at different positions.

8/30/16:

100 yard shots with my PW and 50° wedge (a different 50° still have to get my EXi restarted)... Trying to get some feel for the distance.

8/30/2016:

10 minutes of slow swings and shots with my pitching wedge. Focus on head steady and no sway back. Then about 20 minutes or so practicing chipping and pitching.

8/31 - mirror work x 10 mins

8/31/16:

Slower backswings with a slightly faster through swing. Swinging at perhaps 60-65% of my "normal speed" I honestly don't lose much distance with it. So I think I might use this for a while. "Ledge" gave me this tip on Sunday. (After my match). He told me, I would be more consistent with it, so I'm giving it a shot.

8/31/2016:

30-45 minutes today with my pitching wedge. Bad weather is coming and it may be a few days before I can get out to hit balls, so I took advantage of the cool temps this evening and just spent some time hitting easy shots with about a 75-80% backswing. Tried to focus on keeping my head steady and watching the ball. The constant breeze made ball flight a bit unpredictable and helped me to ignore it a bit. Fun to watch the plastic balls pop up and hang in the air though.

August Challenge Completed!

Some of my posts were in the wee-hours of the next morning. I work late many nights and didn't get to post until after midnight...hopefully that won't hurt me, but I know the practice is helping so I'm good either way.
