Earlier this year someone started a thread looking for a way to meet people to golf with and the mobile app "GolfMatch" was mentioned. I have had that app installed since May, when that thread was made. Unfortunately I have not had any luck finding any groups to play in with it, however there do seem to be quite a few outings put together by people all over the country. I thought maybe some people here would be interested to know about this part of the app/group, and I also thought that it may be a way we can grow our own TST outings. Currently there is a Ohio vs Michigan matchplay scramble outing planned for 9/18. I'm not sure if it will pan out though, as we are woefully short on Ohio people going. Right now it looks as though it is 7 vs 3, of course that could be partially due to the course being in Michigan (http://www.playlegacy.com/course/). Either way, there are other areas of the country that look to be quite popular on there and I know there are several people on here that live close to those active spots. These are the current upcoming outings:

Michigan... yuck!

Lol, I know, but as you can see there is nothing in Ohio for outings and at least this would give me the chance to beat Michigan :-)

I will miss my yearly outing to Oakland Hills CC.

As you two should know, you call it The State Up North.

While defending the honor of my home state sounds like a good idea, I'm keeping it local until my vacation at the end of the month. That sucker will entail a 12-hour car trip and probably more money than I'd really care to think about.

I call it Michigan. I am not going to shy away from it.

I've never had a problem driving 50-60 miles to golf with people, that's how I met up with Shane, William, Erik, Ryan, Matt, etc who are on here. I didn't do it every day, or every week, but a couple times a month is worth it to me, especially if I get to play a new and/or nice course. However, most of the ones I see on the app for just a round of golf tend to be over 2 hours drive which isn't necessarily worth it.

Is there a way of saying "that I don't have a problem drive 1 - 30 hrs away to play golf but my wife does, and she seems to judge my golf time by the clock and not the score" without sounding whipped

Not really, but I know the feeling. My ex was the same way.
