Can anyone tell me how Footjoy polo shirts compare in size and fit to Nike Golf? Bigger, smaller, longer, shorter, etc?

I was looking at some sizing charts and they the numbers look about the same, but a quick Google search of opinions shows Footjoy shirts run "huge". I know for fact Nike Golf shirts are not "huge" as I own one. So, something is not right here..

What is your experience?

I want to take advantage of some season-end sales.

Many thanks in advance,

My first thought is that FootJoy shirts seem to run larger than some others.  I'm dealing from memory at the moment, but I think I wear L in Footjoy, and I know I just wore an XL from Cutter and Buck yesterday that fit just right.  I'll check a few when I get home tonight and let you know more.  I'm pretty sure I don't have any reasonably recent shirts from Nike, so I can't compare those with the FJs.  I should have a couple of UnderArmor shirts, a brand new one from Straight Down, LinkSoul from last fall, maybe a couple more brands to compare.

the only thing wrong with this car is the nut behind the wheel.

Reporting back. Everything I own, Tehama, Greg Norman, Cutter and Buck, LinkSoul, UnderArmor, StraightDown, is XL. Every Footjoy shirt I own is L. The Footjoy shirts definitely run larger

Yes.  They run large.  I take large in almost any other shirt but would consider a medium in FJ.  They aren't sloppy big but are cut very large.  There is enough material under my arms in them at a large to cut a shirt for a 5 year old.   And they tend to run a little longer too.

The polyester material is very nice though.  One of the better I've seen.

Agree with this.  Plus, the shirt tails are longer than Adidas or Nike.  On the plus side, the material appears to be better quality with a bit more substance to it compared to say an Adidas Clima-Cool shirt.

I have golf clothes from the big manufacturers.  In terms of all-around quality, I would rank them as such:

1. FootJoy; Puma/Adidas (tie 2); 3. Nike.

I just ordered a few Footjoy shirts from ebay. Footjoy runs about 1/2 a size larger than other brands. I am very comfortable in a FJ XL, however Nike XL's are too tight for me to play in IMO.
