Carry on my wayward drive

There'll be pars when you are done

Lay your weary wedge to rest

Don't you shank no more

You've never really lived until you play in 35-degree weather with flurries and a 20-mile per hour wind. Don't imagine you Texans get much of that though.

Been there. Done that. Moved to Florida, where the good weather is at.

Welcome to TST. Nice and sunny with low 80's here today. :beer:

About 10 years ago I actually played in 32 degrees / 25 mph north winds on Galveston Island of all places; golf is a 12 month a year sport in Texas so you get to play in temps from the 30s to the 100s.

10 years ago? I barely remember what I did yesterday.

My city courses stay open year round depending on the weather, so I play when the ground isn't frozen. Around here that's usually good for a few rounds in January or February. Sometimes more if Mother Nature is kind to us.

    • Day 197 (15 Nov 24) - Played in the Friday men’s group outing - blustery conditions in play (wind gusting 10-20; spotty pop up misting rain; temps in the mid 50’s), so it was a good day to work on course management.  Solid round of 83 (41/42) - 7 GIR, total 32 putts - included 10 pars (3 being up and downs), a dbl and triple bogie.
    • Have been on a mid to low 80’s roll of late - today was no different with an 83 (41 front / 42 back).   Played in the Friday men’s group outing - blustery conditions in play (wind gusting 10-20; spotty pop up misting rain; temps in the mid 50’s), so it was a good day to work on course management, delivering 7 GIR, total 32 putts - included 10 pars (3 being up and downs), a dbl and triple bogie.  Local course starting to get that winter feel - wet areas wetter, thin grass thinner, greens  trickier.

    • I have been on a roll in November. Today was a 77 (69.2/115, 6,050 yards) on a wet course with dew covered bumpy greens. Better greens and I might have shaved a few more strokes off the score.
