Just curious guys.  I've been playing bi-weekly for the past 6 months.  I've noticed that I've started to switch to my 3 wood on more par 4's and 5's ....in which I used to use my driver.  My main driver SLDR 10.5 R-Flex, just produces too much vertical ball flight now.  The hits are dead center with the driver. Is there something that I did that caused that?

Current ball is a Titleist NXT Tour.

1) if the loft is adjustable adjust it down see what happens

2) are you swinging faster/more comfortably now? If your swinging faster a R-Flex shaft may be too soft

3) where you fitted for the club? if not the kickpoint may be too high

4) Does your 3 wood have a different shaft to your driver?

The ball could be too far forward in your stance.

Couple of questions answered.

1.  My woods all have the same shaft.

2.  The ball is placed slightly behind my left heel(Rhander) in my stance.  Early on I used to tee it a bit forward to combat topping the ball.

3.  Just ballparking it, but it seems at the apex of ball flight the ball is around 65+ ft in the air, however it climbs rapidly.  I need to get borrow a launch monitor to get some real numbers

4.  The de-loft adjustment did help as I can get some roll out on the ball outside of of what I normally carry.  If I were to hit the old setup, the ball would be coming in at a really steep angle.

For a Par 4 I'm hitting (as of yesterday) 3W, 5/6i and finishing with wedges.  For P5's it's 3W, 3H, 7i, and then wedges.  As of last year it was always a drive off the tee.

Could be that you're not getting to your lead side as well as you used to (hitting more off the trail foot), or your trail shoulder is dropping down under too much?

You could go to a golf store and hit some demo drivers to compare to your current one just to get some rough initial numbers.
