I recommend the book below by Stan Ultey. I have my stance set up as he indicates. Basically, you stand up in your normal stance and that width between you feet is what you use for putting. It is very natural and relaxed and you don’t have to really think about it.

Played in a fundraising scramble tourn today working on my putting pendulums and tempo... trying to get a feel for what heel-heel, big toe-big toe distances were. I consistently hit putts short today but most left me no more than 3feet so from that stand point the threat of three-putts were nearly eliminated so that’s progress.

Pendulum practice with metronome at 80bpm. Trying to start heel to heel, big toe to big toe, 6” outside to 6” outside and back down. My backswing seems to be longer than forward in general and so this like everything else will be a work in progress.

That's cool and all but when are you going to do it hitting a ball? That's going to change things.

Make practice swings to the beat. Set up to the ball. Listen to and feel the beat for a few measures. Then hit it on the beat. Then do it again, and the ball should go the same distance if the tempo is the same. Then do it again at a different tempo (still the same rhythm, 80 BPM, different tempo).

I can tell that I’m not maintaining the rhythm as it appears initially my putter head is hitting the beats on my feet, but transitions to the ball.

The stroke still looks a bit handsy. On the face on, it looks like your right hand is pushing a bit causes the wrists to break. Try the drill that Erik posted in the COVID drills with the two driveway sticks. The feel is letting gravity and your shoulders/torso move the putter and not your wrists. Think of the pivot point being around your upper center of rotation.

I was going to tell him to use his elbows more and rock his shoulders (and thus his head) less.

this isn't a swing post, but given all of my work at this point is pendulum work with putter, I wanted to make update. As posted elsewhere, today I played well (for me) having several nGIR's converted for par as a result of good chips. My putting wasn't stellar, having 2 three-putts, but there was much improvements in the lags.

80 (diff of 9.5)

• fairways - 10/14 (71%)
• GIR - 8 (44%)
• putts - 33 (two three-putts & 5 one-putts)

I didn’t leave many lags inside 2ft, but I didn’t leave any outside of 4ft either. Overall solid improvement.

You probably know this already, but total putts is not the best way of assessing how well you putt.
