I have been playing the Taylormade project a golf ball as of late. I was at good old Walmart about a week ago and picked up a dozen of the old Rocketballz urethane. Is there much of a difference or are they similar? Was the project a a sort of replacement for the rocketballz Urethane? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

  • iacas changed the title to TM Project (a) vs Rocketballz Urethane

I have played both quite a bit the last couple years. I actually like the Rocketballz. However, they feel fairly hard and are not soft off the putter based on my experience. I like them, though. They, go straight. The Project(a) balls are very different to me. They feel much softer, seem to fly higher and land softer. Both are great products, I think.

Custom fit RBZ irons. Taylormade RBZ driver. Some crappy old high-bounce Macgregor wedge and an even older Mizuno 5 wood. Haven't settled on a ball yet - still looking. Decades of football, weightlifting and boxing came together to create the world's worst golfer. I'm slowly correcting that now.

I haven't played either in a while but I definitely preferred the RBZ U.

Sorry, I was confusing the I with the U for the RBZ. The U should be an excellent ball. All my time is with the harder cover. Still liked it. I bet the U version is really good.
