I'm still working out the bugs but here is the spreadsheet I made to track practice tests over time.

I did a brief mockup to review and found a few items which you need to correct.
I highlighted the cells with yellow, the one selected is just a typo error, the others
you omitted a row for the equation.

I have to run, playing golf in an hour, I'll send you some suggestions and thoughts later.
It looks effective and simply for the juniors, good job.

I can show you how to upload this to Google Sheets and create a sheet the kids can enter data on their phones
rather than print a paper, which then would reflect to the results sheet for all and any players, if your interested.

I do like the idea of putting things in on a smartphone.

Next week I'll build score entry sheets and send a PM to you.
Everything will be on Google Sheets which allows multiple users (your juniors) to have their own data
that will link to a Master sheet for all to use and view.

It looks awesome

I'll proceed with the Master in a few days. One question?

How many players should I create for data?

Slightly off topic but still a tracking spreadsheet....

Since I've joined a course I've decided to track my game per hole.    I already track the usual, birdie, par, bogie, doubles...score on par 3, 4, 5...Fairways hit, left, right....GIR.   What is enlightening is to see the breakdown per hole.   I believe it will help me learn the course better and avoid costly mistakes.

yes...nothing special but I have a worksheet for overall stats and a worksheet for individual holes.   I've created averages per hole, putts per hole, GIR per hole and FIR per hole plus the usual other stats.   I've color coded good vs. not so good and hope to see more green than red.

It is specific for my home course.

It is nice to see that I've hit the fairway on the #7 100% but holes 3 and 4 only 20% of the time.  Hole #3 is my nemesis.  I score worse vs par on that hole than any other.   I putt worse on #7 than any other hole. On #12 I'm 100%  GIR but I have two holes this year that an 0% GIR.   Data like this excites me.

Our third hole is also tough, #1 handicap and our #7 is the easiest.
How many rounds have you recorded?
What do you use as the bench mark for green and red?

I started fresh this year and have 5 rounds at Copper Ridge.   I've played 9 times already but I don't log them into this spreadsheet.

I'm a bogie golfer.  My best this year is 84 and my worst a couple days ago in 40 mph winds was 94.   My targets are bogie or better for score,  7 of 14 fairways, 2 or less putts, and 33 or less total putts.

Screen shot.

Looking good, do your need a formula to calculate the handicap?
I have it if you need one.

I like your presentation, simple, and colorful and effective.
Most people do not tidy things up as nicely as you have.

OK, I will build it in a few days and send you a PM when I have it ready.
I'll set up 6 players so you will be able to see the means to add others in the future.  ;-)

Base for Master is setup - the highlighted cells will indicate the best results in all categories and each week as data is entered.

    • If it's not broken don't fix it. If you want to add grooves to it just because of looks that's your choice of course. Grooves are cut into putter faces to reduce skid, the roll faced putter is designed to do the same thing. I'm no expert but it seems counter productive to add grooves to the roll face. Maybe you can have it sand-blasted or something to clean up the face. Take a look at Tigers putter, its beat to hell but he still uses it.
    • I get trying to limit relief to the fairway, but how many roots do you typically find in the fairway? Our local rule allows for relief from roots & rocks anywhere on the course (that is in play). My home course has quite a few 100 year old oaks that separate the fairways. Lift and move the ball no closer to the hole. None of us want to damage clubs.
    • Hello, I've been playing a Teardrop td17 F.C. putter for many years and love it. It still putts and feels as good or  better than any of the new putters I've tried and it's in excellent condition except the face has dings in it ever since I bought it used that kind of bother me. I was just wondering if it's possible to have some really shallow horizontal grooves milled into the face on a "roll face" putter. I think I would rather spend some money on it instead of trying to get used to a new putter.  Thanks
    • I agree with @klineka & @DaveP043 above.  When a new member first joins the club they cold be told that they are not eligible for tournaments until they have an established HCP.  As you said, it only takes a few rounds.  If they do not to post HCP that was their choice and choices have consequences.  If playing in the tournament is important to them then they should step up and establish an HCP.  Maybe they miss the 1st tournament, is that a real big deal?  And if it is a "Big Deal" to them then they had the opportunity to establish the HCP. As for not knowing how to report for HCP I assume your club has a pro and they should be able to assist in getting the scores reported and I suspect out of state courses may also have staff that can assist if asked.
