That is terrible.  It can take years to recover from it.  Not sure how he will maintain the energy to play.  I have an uncle who has this.  Wish Jimmy the best.

My son had it and recovered quickly, but he was 15 at the time.

Did they diagnose it quickly as well?  I think it may depend on that also...?  The age variable makes sense as well.  My uncle is going on 2-3 years I think.

We caught it about 2 weeks after the bite. We also lucked out in that the clinic we went to had an NP who was an expert on Lyme. He started the treatment immediately.

Ugh...man.  I'd hear about Lyme quite a bit growing up...the deer would carry it around.  Glad I never had to deal with it.  I've only heard really bad things.
