This guy has not evolved his swing at all during the duration of his channels existence.  He's annoying and over analytical.  IMO his problem is his mental approach to golf.  He thinks too much.

I cannot believe people follow stuff like this and the other Hogan guy who dresses up like Hogan and videos from flattering angles  and also has not made one significant observable swing change.  These two suck.

These are not qualified pros.  They are just interested in money but they get people following.  They make me mad.  These clowns are making money how does that make you feel?

lol here's Ben Hogans secret... It worked for this guy for a couple weeks so it must be true.

underplane my ass that's a hook move with path out to right.

Hogan was not underplane.  This info is wrong.

Look at this mess.  In the beginning of the video he has the audacity to say amateurs are better at helping amateurs.  Can these guys break 80 here?  Doubt it.  Christos Hogan secret allows him to snap hook into the left with water left.  These guys are full of sh$&!

Bad golf here be warned.

I am of the opinion that Hogan's secret was letting his competition think he had a secret.

As for amateurs teaching amateurs, that could work in some instances, since they would be speaking the same language. On the same page so to speak.

I really think that the key that's going to make and a lot of golfers better, and I think Chris would agree with this, is not going to be listening so much to experts, but it's going to be through trial and error and helping each other out.

This dude has his head so far up his own ass he could give himself a colonoscopy. The experts are called experts because they know what they're talking about. The average golfer is mediocre because they haven't a clue what they're doing most of the time.

I think for the audience, it's good because the be better golf YT channel has exposed instructors like Dana Dahlquist to more people and channel watchers can get a feel for other instructors that are out there, but for the guy himself, if he's constantly jumping from lessons with different pros with varying philosophies/methods, that's not going to work.

It's been seen again and again that the follow me do this in golf, then monetize the following, doesn't monetize that much, yet people keep doing it.

Whatever you think of Haney, make no mistake.  That was for the entertainment factor only, nothing more.

And they think that the best way to improve is to talk to that other average golfer and "try different things"...

And he did get Barkley swinging better, for a while. Some students have no chance!

  • 3 weeks later...

I hate the Be Better Golf guy. He gets great guests than doesn't know to shut up and let them speak. Annoying as heck.

I was really surprised by the poor play in that video. I though tthose guys would be better. But I do give them credit for showing their bad shots. They could've only shown the good ones .

    • after some years experimenting around, I've settled on a mixed bag of mostly Pat Simmons vintage Tiger Sharks (the ones with the blue enamal on back of the clubheads): 3 thru 9 iron, + 3 wedges (PW, sand, chipper). Those super heavy clubheads really help me get my swing down and thru the ball. Also I carry an old Taylor 18-degree rescue club, 17-degree and 14 degree ImagineGolf metalwoods, and the famous Pat Simmons "alien" 1-iron. Finally a real brick-on-a-stick, the big-headed Bettinardi Ben Hogan model putter which is excellent for taking the break out of short putts and getting the ball hole high on long ones. Wait....is that 15 clubs? Oh well....
    • this topic brought to mind one my favorite golf-spectator memories. Back when, living in Santa Barbara CA, parked in my yellow cab just behind the 10th tee  (c. 380 yard par 4) at SB Muni golf course while eating lunch. A twosome comes by, and first up is this fat little mexican guy who takes a kinda squirelly practice swing, then addresses the ball and bashes a long, high, perfectly straight drive up to w/in about 5 yards of the green. Other guy is dressed to the 9's, pulls out what looks like a $300 driver....and hits a maybe 150-yard pop fly. Slams clubhead to the ground and yells, "it's fat! It's fat! Everything is fat today!!"  And that's how I learned what a "fat" shot is.
    • day 57. Technique practice in the net. Really trying to slow down.
    • It may not be surprising that in the previous 7,064 posts, this particular point has been discussed. To which I will counter: If we're talking about results, why only the majors? Unless you know something that I don't, neither of us are in any position to judge whether Woods or Nicklaus lived their overall life better, not that such a thing is even objectively measurable, nor is it relevant to the discussion.
    • As we've had to tell other people, the topic is which is the better GOLFER, not human being.
