Sorry if there is a post regarding this already, I did a quick search and did not see anything or if I posted this in the wrong place, please feel free to move if need be.

Question:  I have an old putting mat that is showing it's wear and tear and I want to replace it.  I just ran across the 4.25" Infinity Putting Mat for $118.00 on Amazon.  It has 3 different cup sizes that I like and it looks like it could be a decent item to practice putting indoors with over the frigid winters that strike Minnesota.  Roughly 10' long with an incline at the end to the cup, standard size cup and 2 smaller cups to utilize.

Please let me know if you have any experience regarding this mat, good or bad or if you have a putting mat that you would like to recommend.  Size of the mat does not matter as I can set it up in our warehouse and take it down as needed.  Cost, not in the market for some of those practice greens that are in the thousands of dollars.  I would like to keep the price under $300.00.   And a bonus if it works outside.

I will check back and see what anybody may post as I am at work now or later at the range.  Thank you in advance for your opinions and thoughts, I really do appreciate it.

This one? Looks okay.

Honestly, a strip of thin carpet can do the job, too. It doesn't have to be green.

Yes that one and there is another one that has a rotating cup with 3 different sizes.

:-) @iacas thanks for just shooting this grand idea down :-) "a strip of thin carpet" now what kind of fun is that.  Practical advice...

@iacas @p1n9183 what do either or both or you think about adding https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00HY44V3M/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A2GHQV0QWA5W50&psc=1 this to that piece of carpeting I need to get to practice putting on?

In case the link does not work it is the Dead Zero Putting Disk.  It intrigues me.

I putt to a Gatorade bottle cap, if you hit it the ball will go in a real hole unless the pace it`s too fast and you hit it on the edge.. It`s important to aim for a smaller target, but you don`t need to purchase anything.

I do something similar, I usually putt to anything I can find that is smaller than an actual hole. bottle caps, water bottles, deck of cards, my ball mark repair tool, my ball marker, etc.

OK OK you win - you have saved me so much money I will order LSW :-)

hmm now let me think with all the money saved from actually great advice from all on this I can afford LSW and what new club.  Maybe that 4 Hybrid

I really appreciate what everyone has stated, it all does make sense and at times as a golf gear nut I can get so wrapped up in getting that perfect golf aid that common sense does go out the window, or I just miss the obvious.

As I sit here typing this I am reminded about the last time I was at the putting green working on my chipping, I tossed a golf ball out on the green as my target and many times I select that spot on the green to chip into as I would out on the course.

Thanks again

    • I have a putting mat in my office. It's 9 feet long almost 4 feet wide. I've drawn a line down it in order to practice hitting my line and stuff. Works fine for what it is.  While I'm not a fan of lining up a line on my golfball for every putt. I think for practice sessions it can have a lot of value.  To me this product makes sense. This is the first time I've seen it. It showed up as an add on the right side of the TST webpage. What do you all think? PuttAIM Laser Training Aid Get ready to dominate the greens like never before. PuttAIM Golf is a golf putting aid that uses laser technology to help you improve your game. This device works to ensure your putts are aligned properly and on track...
    • Of course. I've used different words to start, but like 90-95% of the time it's been this one. And I'm unlikely to switch now.
    • Welcome to TST @Camjr.   We're glad you've joined.
    • Angle is not a factor. I hit the ball 100’ high. Par is net birdie. My CH is 16. The rough between the bunkers is like 10’ wide though. That’s not something you’re going to try to hit on purpose. Most of the area to the left of that is fescue/native vegetation and I’m pretty sure there isn’t a flat lie in any of it. It’s the second hole.
