Carpet style mat loses tee EVERY time

My local range has chosen to replace the large square mats  with one very long continuous strip. In theory you can drive off of it but in reality any tee you use will go flying - usually around 20 ft or more.

The tee only goes in about 1 inch before it hits concrete so it's not really anchored.

What do you guys think about this kind of hitting surface, and have you devised some solution to the flying tee?

I bought the Tee Claw after reading the reviews here.   It's much better than just using a tee in the mat.
