not sure if this was posted, couldn't find it after a search. anyways, i see JD is filing a lawsuit against the Honda Classic's insurance people after an unpaid fan(fence jumper?) took a flash photo of him while he was right at the top of his swing. apparently he was startled and hurt himself and he claims his injury made him lose millions of potential earnings during last year. has anybody seen any of this?

I'm starting to get real tired of the JD soap opera. He played 17 tournaments after the one the incident happened in. Yah, he had a crap year, but if the injury was so bad, how could he have played that many. I hurt my ribs playing hockey last year, and cracked some ribs playing hockey as a teenager, and the last thing I could do was swing a golf club. JD's alimony payment must be up and he needs the money.

And like thus you highlight another ridiculous facet of our modern society...

But yeah, I support the lawsuit. There shouldn't be cell phones or cameras at tournaments. Period. I don't care if they have to stripsearch people at the gates.

John Daly has the right to sue surely because the bloke who took the picture was technically trespassing was he not, I don't know who being distracted in a swing can cause an injury, that only transpires after a certain amount of uninspiring performances, however as long as John Daly can prove it, and has lost earnings as a result of his 'injury' there is no reason why he should not sue the company running the event.

    • For general practice, this ratio is what I'd recommend: Making real changes in the golf swing is hard for everybody. Make sure you're practicing properly. A good topic on that subject is here: I have limited time for practice, too. I also find I enjoy doing full swing work more than anything else so that's what I always end up spending most of my time doing. Lately I have found that just doing some basic short game motions in my office is enough for me to improve my short game and that's kind of opened up a new area of practice for me because it literally takes a few minutes out of my day. Now if I can figure out how to practice my putting inside of 10' I might actually be decent at this game. Welcome to TST.
    • day 68. Technique work into the net. Lots of rehearsal and slow swings with a ball trying to understand how to achieve a flat wrist at impact. 🤷‍♂️
    • Day 20 (21 May 24) - Played 18 with a couple of friends at one of the nearby courses…a personal course best of 84.  A lot of greenside up and down scrambling including a number of bunker shots….
    • I’m sure I’m not the only one here with a family and limited practice time. That being said, I’m in the process of making what feels like major swing changes.  Primarily, my issues are a late loading backswing and passive arms that lead to a steep downswing that relies a lot on timing. I’ve been swinging with these faults for a while so making the changes has been extremely challenging.  With limited practice time, how much time should I spend implementing these changes via drills and slow intentional swing feels compared to practicing different aspects such as my drives, approaches, wedge shots and short game? I’d be fine hitting bucket after bucket just working on drills but can’t figure out if that would be the most beneficial to my game.  Thanks for the help!
