I picked up a ping traverse cart bag. I really like it, but it has the 14 individual club slot dividers.

Has anybody tried to remove the club slot dividers without ruinging the bag?  I just want to remove two of the subdividers from the bottom area, not remove them all  wondering how I can do that without causing damage

I like to keep 4 wedges and a putter together and usually take them all up to the green/approach area when I am pitching or chipping (pelz 4x3 method). I would like just one large slot at the bottom instead of three slots where I have to separate the clubs and drop them in.

Thanks for the tips.

@TropicalSandTrap I have the Traverse bag, but have not tried to remove any of the dividers.  I’ve not had an issue pulling multiple clubs from the bag at the same time.  My thought based on your question... probably not worth the risk of damaging the bag when it only takes a 2-3 seconds to grab every club you’d want.

I also have the Hoofer Vantage (carry bag), and it doesn’t have all the dividers.  Maybe switching to a bag like that could help resolve your concern.

It’s not a huge deal, but if I could just get one of he dividers out so I can fit all four wedges In one slot it would be perfect.  I know it only takes a couple of seconds to get them in and out with the dividers, but if I could get one of the dividers out the bag would be perfect

bag was a gift with a logo of a course I really like on it so I am going to stick with it.

I have a bag with 14 slots, and I didn't used to like it, but lately, it's come in pretty handy, because if every slot has a club, then I know I have exactly 14 clubs, plus, if every slot is full and I have a club in my hand I know my playing partner put one of his clubs in my bag, and, if I have an empty slot and no club in my hand, I know I left a club somewhere.

I'm not sure how that bag is made, but you might have to saw through some plastic. Won't look pretty but it should be doable.

In my bag:

Driver: Titleist TSi3 | 15º 3-Wood: Ping G410 | 17º 2-Hybrid: Ping G410 | 19º 3-Iron: TaylorMade GAPR Lo |4-PW Irons: Nike VR Pro Combo | 54º SW, 60º LW: Titleist Vokey SM8 | Putter: Odyssey Toulon Las Vegas H7

Yeah this. I'm sure the hard part is at the top, use a Dremel or something like that to get thru the top and then rest should be thin plastic that you could run a razor thru.

If not, there's always this option....

I have a dremel, but I have never really been very handy and have never actually used it.

My concern is hat I will cut through it and the fabric will start fraying and just unravel and it will really mess up the bag.

    • I’d go with the Titleist if you liked the look of the blades but were suffering with distance. They should be a little more forgiving than a full blade and still retain some workability. Also remember to consider the shafts each have as this will be a big contributor to how they feel. Clemsonfan is right though… get fit or spend a bit of time on a launch monitor 🤙
    • Day 28: 2026.01.30 Managed to make time for a few swings out back today. Need a proper bit of range time this weekend.
    • Day 30, 1/30.  Six minutes this morning hitting a few more range balls, indoors, off a mat, into the net.  Did this before leaving the house.

    • Hi All my New Year’s resolution was to start playing golf again. I’ve caught the bug and am really enjoying hitting balls at a couple of my local ranges.looking forward to getting back out on courses in the spring. Based in the UK and 38 years old, I’ve been playing since I was a kid. Best handicap I’ve held is 2 in my mid 20s. Over the past 10 years I’ve played once or twice a year, sometimes with friends or for work. Could shoot 4-5 over, but just as easily shoot 15-20 over. I’ve moved to South Wales and am very lucky to be near some world class links courses, which gives me even more motivation to get playing again! I will start looking for a local coach in my area when I have more time to invest, but I recalled scouring this forum a few years ago and finding some good tips and advice so wanted to give it a try to see if there were any glaring issues I could fix in the meantime!  A few swings below… one from 1st week Jan and one from today. I have fixed my P1 takeaway to my liking and am now working on what I see as pretty severe early extension & hip thrust. Also terrible hip rotation. I’d like confirmation that this is indeed a problem and and suggestions on a few good drills. Thanks for reading 🙂 I've been Playing Golf for: 30+ years My current handicap index or average score is: 10ish over My typical ball flight is: mid The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: push right with irons, hooks and push with driver!  Videos:
