Day 5: 12/14/2014

More mirror work today. I feel like I'm almost ready to take the PPJ swing to the garage mat/net.

My bag is an ever-changing combination of clubs.

A mix I am forever tinkering with.

Day 6: 12/15/2024

Today I worked on my PPJ priority piece in front of the mirror for a bit, then I took it out to the garage and hit some balls into the net. That felt productive. At first I had to battle my hit instinct and my "old swing". But I found if I did my PPJ one piece at a time and then added the next part to it I got to where I was making some solid contact into the net and I really started to feel ... dare I say comfortable. Well at least not like an insane-chicken on no-doze.

Tomorrow more slow-mo mirrors and then more hitting into the net. I really don't want to start reacting to ball flight yet.

My bag is an ever-changing combination of clubs.

A mix I am forever tinkering with.

Day 7: 12/16/2024

I was anxious to get some practice in so I've already been working on my PPJ in front of the mirror for a while this morning. Starting to feel more natural.

I got in the garage net and that went well. ... Topped a few. I noticed that sometimes the J part of my PPJ gets really vertical. Things go a lot better when I drive my lead leg straight away from the ball and not up. (That's the thought in my head anyway.)

If none of that makes any sense to you, don't worry. I'm sure everyone's working on their own priority pieces and I don't need to understand the details of what you are working on. Just as long as it works for you.

On a side note, I feel like I'm actually grasping this priority piece a little quicker than I thought I would. When Yoda first laid it out for me I thought it might take me forever to get the timing down. But, I'm getting it right now (or at least better than it was) a lot. And that's encouraging. Maybe I'm not as uncoordinated as I thought. ... I say that as I spill coffee down the front of my shirt.

Day 227 (16 Day 24)  - Temps back in the 60’s - but a full day of other obligations meant limited time, so I worked on setup, tempo and  hitting shorter punch shots focused on making solid contact with the hard foam balls.   This drill really helps to dial in ball first contact as you’re not worried about a specific distance or pin - just making contact.  Of course as I can hit from varied lies, not two shot setups are exactly perfect replicating being on the course.

Day 77 - 2024-12-16

Had a lesson and then a good GEARS lesson, so I hit some balls after that. Turn, pick up. Left wrist stays cupped.

Erik J. Barzeski —  I knock a ball. It goes in a gopher hole. 🏌🏼‍♂️

Day 228 (17 Dec 24) - Morning drills today as the balance of the day is committed elsewhere.  Repeat of yesterday except it was 6i with the primary focus being on the club face at address.  A fun little drill where I deliberately try to hit slight fades and draws using the hard foam practice balls of course.
