Day 121 - 2025-01-29

Got some swings in before lessons. Downswing stuff. Path back/behind. Partly hand path, partly forearm movement. "Loose" wrists allows for the release.

Erik J. Barzeski —  I knock a ball. It goes in a gopher hole. 🏌🏼‍♂️

Day 196: back to mirror work today. Worked on the backswing stuff again. Temperatures are warming up, so think I’ll be able to film soon!

I've blogged about my wanderings since 2003. I love roaming throughout the USA looking for remote public golf courses to play.

Day 10 (30 Jan 25) - Played 18 at a new course (to me) today along with 3 others.  Usually I do not fare well when on new courses - not sure of how it plays, thankfully one of my partners had a wonderful local knowledge of how it plays.  His advice really helped my course management - which boded well as the course was still semi-soggy from the recent snow melt.  It was a solid day across the bag with a solid 82 (42 front w/a dbl bogie & 40 back w/no dbl bogies).

Day 122 - 2025-01-30

Got 15 minutes of work in on when… two golfers didn't show up for their lessons (NSNC, lovely), so I had some time to do that and help others.

Day 51: 1/31/2025

It was really nice outside today, so I got to the range and worked on my priority pieces with every club in my bag. When I finished with that I spent some time working on flighting some wedges.

My bag is an ever-changing combination of clubs.

A mix I am forever tinkering with.

Day 11 (31 Jan 25) - Played in the Friday men’s group today.  Had some really good swings with the  Feruga shafted driver, pretty solid with the putter (not the AI One Milled but the broomstick style NMG Ab) and okay wedge game.  Was a day of up and down pars  (5 of the 6 front side pars were such).  Finished with a 40 on the front.  Then the wheels got wobbly on the back - made a mess on a number of holes closing with a 49 by trading those 5 up and down pars for 5 doubles on the back….while it was a struggle to not get frustrated, it was just a reminder that the game can spin on a single shot.

Busy day building a website, some images, and doing Evolvr. So… some mirror stuff while waiting on some things a few times throughout the day.

    • Day 33 (23 Feb 25) - Weather was nice (around 60deg) this afternoon - got in a speed round of 18 (the pro shop said I needed to be in by 5 (teed off right at 3  - thankfully course not busy and I was boringly straight for the most part). Played from the member tees to allow focus on the longer game especially approach shots.  Decent all around round - with an 86.  Lost at least 5 strokes on the green, I.e. had a number of putts 5’ or less that I missed for par….did pretty good time wise - walked off 18th green at 5pm.
    • 2/23/25 - it’s been awhile (I’ve noticed I start quite a few posts with that). My wife is doing well! We’ve been blessed with how everything has turned out so far. But after playing just a few rounds all last year, I was looking forward to getting back out on the course. As Mr. Murphy would have it, I’ve had some chronic reoccurring golfer’s elbow intermittently flaring up for years, but have had pretty painful unrelenting bout now for 3 months despite typical conservative treatments of Ice, oral & injectable NSAIDs, steroid injection, physical therapy (to include dry needling and typical modalities) and as of last week, a PRP injection. No better. Holding out hope as the PRP injection can take a couple of weeks to take. While statistically most folks won’t need surgery, my last step is just that.  I didn’t even pay the $40 this year to keep my GHIN going since it’ll be months before I can hit a few balls.  No responses needed, not fishing for anything. Just posting since I’ve had nothing to post in a while.
